Did I get a good deal? Was this a good deal on this 91LX

Recently I bought a 91 Black LX 5.0 with a 5 speed and paid $7,500 for it. He was asking $8,000 and best he could do was $7,500..The car has 87,000 miles on it..Engine was rebuilt, bored 30 over (306)..AFR 165 heads, 1.7 rockers.Holley system max intake, srp pistions, Comp cam, 70mm TB..Engine has less than 4000 miles on it with paper work..

The car also has the following new mods:

70 mm throttle body, 24lb injectors, and 75 mm Pro-M mass air meter. Taurus fan, Taylor wires, MSD coil, NGK spark plugs, Bosch O2 sensors, BBK 1-5/8 long tube headers, BBK H-pipe, dynomax 2-1/2 cat-back exhaust. Lakewood 70-30 struts and 50-50 shocks, 4 cylinder springs in the front and GT springs in the rear, G-Load Brace, Grantelli subframe connectors, Granatelli upper and lower control arms, 3.73 gear with new posi, Aluminum driveshaft, Spec clutch - stage 2 disc with aluminum pressure plate, C&L inlet pipe, 140 amp alternator, high-torque mini starter, Ford Racing radiator, polyurethane mounts , Saleen style seats, Saleen spoiler, cobra lights, Optima battery, battery in rear with Moroso box Autometer shift light. Nitto NT555 drag radials

The car has never been hit and is straight with a maybe 2 light dings..The panels have the VINS tags and The paint shines..Only rust before was on the lower rear quarter, which was repaired by a body shop..The interior is clean, no rips or tears on it..and the ashtray door opens and closes..

The car runs great and idles aweasome with the stock tune and pulls really hard!

My question is do you guys think $7500 was to much? I thought I was getting a good deal..But alot of my friends telling me that I paid to much for it..What do you guys think?

Well, if it's really a clean car, you couldn't duplicate it for that. Trust me, I'm trying and I'm at 10k and counting.

As long as you can be proud of it without being the one who put in the time on it, then enjoy the car!

OMG, that's worth $7400.00 right thar!!

I'd have to see pics, but it sounds like it's worth it if all the work was done right and it runs good. Any time a car had an engine rebuild with that low of mileage I get a little worried, but it sounds like your happy with the way it runs.

Pretty much what everyone else said. If everything was done right and you like the car, it's worth it.

I can say that with experience. I paid $6500 for my GT back in 2003 and it had a lot less than your car and the hood has a place where the paint is off, the front bumper cover is losing paint and is cracked, the rear bumper sags, drivers seat (leather) is trashed.

Either way you look at it, you would be hard pressed to buy a decent low mileage body w/ decent paint and good interior and do all of that work for under $7500. That engine would be around $3000 or more if you did the build yourself w/ all new parts.

Enjoy the car, you got an alright deal...pretty good actually if the car looks alright.

 My ash tray works too

Welcome to :SNSign:

Very much worth $7500. The thing has 80k original, AFR Heads, New bottom end, and all kinds of other goodies.

Sounds like a solid car :nice:

Can't wait to see pics!

I definately wouldnt say you were ripped off by any means. For whats done to, as most have already told you, the guy probably lost some money on the deal. Sounds solid. Will be awaiting pics!
