Hey guys. Today I went to wash my 07 GT which is black. Unfortunately I made the mistake of going to one of those do it yourself car washes because I live out in the country and frankly washing a car out there is next to impossible due to dirt and things flying around. Anyway before the prewash I selected tire cleaner and as I was applying it I looked up and noticed the cleaner leaking from the ceiling onto the roof of my car. So I stopped it put on soap wash and continued, then rinsed with the pressure sprayer and thought all was fine. However as I chamoised the car I noticed the green residue of the tire cleaner as I wrang it out. Well it left spots and streaks on the car as it dried. I went and had it hand washed at a local detailer. The handwash took off the obvious stuff but there were still small black spots every where it seemed like. I bought some meguiars detailer to get them off and slowly they come off with a lot of scrubbing. I don't know if these spots are related to the tire cleaner incident or just what happens when a black car is not dried properly. Anyways I was wondering what, if anything will get these spots off? I was thinking a clay bar maybe?

If it is coming off with the quick detailer you could either keep doing that or do the claybar. I highly recommend claying even when I car is new. Most cars have railroad dust from when they are new. Looks like little specs on the paint. A claybar will remove this and any other contaminant in the paint. Then you will have to follow up with a wax to protect what you did. It is hard to tell you exactly on the spots without looking at them. Hope this helps!
