will a high flow water pump run my engine cooler? i have a stock one in there now but i have a new radiator,180 stat, and new heater core put in last year .and it reads over half on the gauge i already switch gauges ,temp sending unit, volt regulator and i smell antifreeze after i drive, it has a very small leak. what should i do

Get a remanufactored or new unit from Auto-Zone with a lifetime warranty, unless you have a gazillion $$$ in your engine.

I don't recommend a high-flow pump unless you have a three core radiator with more coolant capacity. If it's pushing too much volume, the coolant mix won't stay in the radiator long enough to get cool. JMHO. FWIW, I tried this with the Cobra overdrive wp pulley AND the a high flow pump.... It blew off the upper radiator hose on the first whack of the throttle, and spewed water everywhere. LOL Gotta love cast iron heads...

i also am not a fan of high flow pumps. if a new one is cheap, go for it (i am also not a huge fan of reman'd units, but i think it is luck of the draw with about any pump). Stewart makes nice pumps and they are not too much $$, IIRC.

is it normal for it to read over half on the gauge when i used i 160 stat it barely went up. now i got 180 stat and it reads over half already change a crap load of parts will a new water pump run it cooler

i would really want a real gauge first. who knows what you are really running at. water pumps generally dont fail or lost that that much performance (impeller shaft breaks are rare).

my two cents. good luck.
