Correct me if I'm wrong, but when installing the water pump on the timing cover, it's really only the 2 ports that need sealed correct?
I plan to use just a very very thin coating of ultra black on the gaskets, when I install the timing cover and water pump, to make sure I don't have any sealing issues from any irregularities in the surface. But looking at the water pump, even though the gasket goes around the whole thing, it's only the left and right side coolant passages that have coolant going through, so I don't need to worry about putting any sealant on the rest of the guasket, just around those 2 port openings... correct?
