ok, so hi go again starting something im not too sure about...
so i bought a wc t5 today for 25 bucks...sounds crazy i know, but i couldint pass up the price. as i started doing some searching i find out that the speed sensor is electric on this t5 vs. having a spedo cable on older t5's wth do i need to do here, everything i have found so far isnt very clear on what to do, if anything. any help is much appreciated, and thanks in advance!:flag:

ok, its still in the bed of my caddy, as soon as i get a sec ill post a pic, probably tomorrow. thanks for helping! i was stuck on imports when i was younger, but always loved mustangs...

I am, with the help of my cousin...we recently did a swap in his firehawk with a t56, everything went well, and i have been told by alot of people that this t5 in the mustang is going to be pretty easy once i get all the parts together that is...

Crossmember section is different for sure. That won't bolt toma fox crossmember. You might have to swap the tail housing section to fit it unless you do some custommwork for the crossmember.

shouldint be too bad to fab something up, i have a dobbs at my disposal to do the swap... im just unsure o the gauge set up...im thinking of swapping out to a florida 5.0 setup, would that take care of the problem, or is there a way to keep my stock setup with the electric speedo sensor, also got the wire harness that went with this t5 if that does anything for me...

I thought you had to switch the tail housing like someone previously said. Sounds pretty simple and could be potentially cheaper. People down here want 350-400 for a good 5.0 wc t5. I wouldnt be surprised if I went to a junkyard and said "hey I need a trans for a v6" and get it for less money. I have a double hump crossmember if you need one.

sorry for my lack of knowladge on this, and i really appreciate all the help from everyone! @lawbreaker, so i just need the tailhousing from a wct5 and everything will just fit together the same? i could probably use the crossmember if you dont have any use... how much, and where are you located? anyone with any other parts for this conversion laying around? im gonna hit the junk yards starting as soon as it stops raining here in stl!

Alright I just talked to him. I'll send you a pm a little later it won't allow me to on my phone.

To those that want to know. All you have to do is use a die grinder to drill a hole in the mainshaft where the clip goes. The newer main shafts do not have the hole. They are machined for the plastic gear and will slip on but in Order to hold it in place you have to drill the hole.

EDIT: So to make it work buy/find any t5 tailshaft housing with hole for speedo gear, plastic gear, the clip, and drill the hole.
