I am in the process of installing a 351W into what used to be a 4cylinder Mustang. The 4banger is now out, and i had some questions about the 351 install. Rather than ask a dumb question every few weeks on here, is there a website that might have some helpful information about the install of a 351? For example, im looking at the fuel lines from the 4banger and they are right where the header is. Im also wondering how longtube headers will fit considering the powersteering looks to be in the way. You get the idea...... so are there any websites out there that you guys know of?

Thanks.

I run 1 7/8 kooks on mine. I use the flaming river rack, and steering shaft. I had to run the reduced u-joint and still dent the header in a ch to make them clear. I ran my fuel lines up into the inner fender and out through the strut tower. What combo are you considering? Carbed or efi? You can pm me if you want, I will answer all that I can. Good luck. Dont know off the top of my head any sites, though I know there are some out there.

I had a 351W in my old '83. All i had to do to get it in was buy a pair of MAC shorty headers (351w specific). They sell'em for this purpose. Aside from that, everything from a 302 will bolt right up, like the accessories on the front. I did have to buy a small flex fan because the ones with the longer blades will hit your hood, and i ran an Edelbrock Performer intake with no carb spacer and a Weiland triangle breather....it all fit right under the hood. I don't have any links anymore but when i was playin around with it, i just did web searches and found a few sites....they're really not hard to find.

I am going carb since it is much cheaper and easier to work on than EFI. The car will be a track only car except for the occasional "hope the cops arent around" testing down the street. My plans were to race open LT headers at the track, so thats why im scratching my head over the power steering.

I am building this car with a friend and we are going halves on all the expenses. I think for right now we are going to go 351 until we can see what the car does at the track with heads/cam/etc. Then possibly go the stroker route next winter.

Thanks for all the help, and that website!
