Just thought it would be interesting to post the weight of my car, in case anyone has something similar and is curious.

My 68 Coupe, with a 351w, aluminum heads, T5, and 8 inch, manual steering, manual brakes, no a/c, with a little more than a 1/4 tank of gas weighed in at 2980 without me in it. I was hoping for under 3k.

Has anyone else weighed their car? I'm kind of curious about what other classics weigh now.

Feel free to share.

Car weight

Good to know, thanks for sharing. I am going with a similar set up in a fastback. I glad to see it weighs under 3K. New Mustangs weigh a lot more than that.

Mines 2940 with me in it. (190 lbs)

aje front suspension for weight loss but then add the roll bar for weight gain.

Will end up about 2990 now with the YSI on it.
Full interior too, just light fron seats. I doubt I'll lighted it up anymore.

Oh forgot, it's getting a 10 poin cm cag this winter but should come out close to the MS rollbar it has now.

this is great information, but it would be nice to get some more details. For the guys that have posted actual measured weights:

1. for 67 up cars, what radiator are you using?
2. What kind of front brakes (manual disc or drum?) OEM or aftermarket rotors and hubs?
3. Is the interior basically stock? If not what mods were made?
4. If it's a manual trans is it the stock alum bell or a scattershield?

Basically, how and where did you trim the fat? Some additions add weight but are necessary for safety (e.g. roll bars) so how much did it actually cost you (guessing is fine, but actual weights are much better).

great idea for a thread!

Mine is ALL stock body and suspension. 95 GT 8.8, no traction bars, 351w with Aluminum heads and intake and t70 turbo and plumbing, no pwr steering or brakes, front brakes are Granada with 99-04 calipers, interior is 100% stock other than steering wheel and all stock sheet metal. There is zero weight reduction other than heads and intake. Oh and Prostars 15x3.5/8 with drag radials and street radials on front. I will weigh it again in the spring with 10pt cage, SFC, Caltracs and much heavier turbo. It went 1.58 in 60' with no suspension work.

Mine has a fox body 3 row copper radiator, manual Granada brake swap, no front sway bar, subframe connectors, 8 inch rear with traction bars. I've got stock interior with the addition of a fox body console for now, but with no headliner, heater core, or ducting. It does have a radio, small amp, and two 5x7 speakers. My trans is a T5 with a stock fox aluminum bellhousing and a cable conversion kit. This was with my aluminum headed 351w with manual steering, and about a 1/4 tank of gas. I did also have a few pounds of tools and misc. junk in there too, along with my nitrous stuff (empty bottle). Wheels and tires are 15x3 Prostars in front and 15x8 Prostars in the back with 275/50 MT Radials.
