I found a removable hard top for my vert... and its local... i didnt want to spend more then $500 but there is a chance i might pick this up because of how rare they are.... how heavy are they... does anyone know???

My uncle's neighbor has one of these on his original 95 Cobra 2 top, & this thing weighs a good bit, it took 3 of us to take it off, and it was a real bi**h!! Then you have to have a nice size place to store it when you have it off the car. From looking at the attachment points of it, you would have to custom fabricate it to fit onto a car that didnt come from the factory w/ it. Wouldnt be worth all the $$$ it would cost & time & hassle to have it fit onto your car by a proffesional. Im 99% sure that this wont work on a regular vert IMHO

I was looking at one of those when we redid our car and decided against doing it. Reason being, a friend of mine has one on his cobra and it has cracks all over by where you mount it to the car. He didn't use it much, but it did crack all to heck and back. He fixed it multiple times and still has it. Just doesn't use it anymore. I was surprised since it is factory. I just didn't want to deal with painting it and then having to go back and do it again. Plus, it is a very big piece to try to find room for.

After lifting one yesterday, I'd estimate its weight at around 100-150lbs. It will take some fabbing to make it work, but I think its far less than most think. This one did have cracks in the paint, but I'm told by a body man that has worked on vettes for 20+yrs that this "checking" is normal after a number of years.

it weighs about 150lbs

it is a very awkward weight.

mine has a few paint cracks in it, but my spoiler does too.

for $500 i would be on it like a fat kid on cake. i wish i had a spare so i wouldn't be afraid of ruining mine.

apparently it will fit with some minor mods--nothing crazy like fabbing brackets or anything.
