I have done no weight reduction yet but its about time to start... my only confusion is all the easy weight reduction stuff is in the rear (spare tire, jack, rear seat) wouldn't that hurt traction?? i know then i can do ac, ps, air pump, etc.... is battery location to the rear and removal of rear seat an offseting traction vs. weight mod?? Or am i way off base and i should just lighten it up and traction stays there... suspension mods comming soon

Plus, since you have a hatch, there is plenty of weight back there still...believe me. And yes, with the proper suspension setup, the weight transfer and traction issues are corrected. In any event, the lighter you can get the car, the quicker it will be once it does get traction...and hey, you've got to stop spinning at some point down the track :)

if i dont trade my stang i'll be doing weight reduction soon(including on myself) every 100lbs taken off drops ur 1/4 time about 1 tenth.

mine doesnt have a spare tire or jack. traction is and issue(got be by an iroc that had a ton of traction with 295 tires) if u remove ur front sway bar u will lose weight and also better weight transfer.

its best to remove weight. weight can only help minimally when it comes to traction but hurts a lot in the overall quarter mile. get some good suspension and get all the weight out that you can. that way your light and have good traction
