Weird Steering Wheel Question

Kind of an odd ball request, But I want to put my 86 GT steering wheel into my 90 GT. I know the steering columns are different, and I will lose airbag and cruise (its an offroad car), ans also the plastics covering the steering column are different. Has anyone done this swap, or does anyone know if it will work. Thanks

I put an 86 wheel in my 87.

Yeah, so did I. But in 90 they changed the steering column to accept the airbag, and was wondeirng if its possible to put the entire 87 steering column into the 90, and use the plastic fromt he 87 to cover the steering column. Thanks though
