Well I have been looking for new(er) Mustang for about 3 months now to replace (but keep) my 1987 5.0L GT Mustang. After many weeks of Craigs list, Auto Trader searches, (and even Stang Net) and looking at cars that people thought were accually worth what they were asking I bought a 1996 GT convertible. I wanted a 'vert so I never even looked at hard tops but the car I found is a 1 owner with a clean Carfax and a ton of service records and a brand new top with headliner. It's 100% minus the 3 chamber Flowmaster exhaust (which is not quite loud enough for me). I know it is pre PI 4.6 but it drives great and I plan to keep the mod money going to the Fox which I will still drive from time to time to work. Its a great DD and I can give my Fox the rest it deserves after 5 years! I am sure I will be asking the advice of 4.6 novices sooner or later.

Here are some pics. You can see my Fox in the garage on the one. Yea, should have posted in the talk section! I am not sure about the exh. The 3 chambers sound great while accelerating but drone after that. To be honest, I am used to hearing my 5.0 with ported heads and cam blowing threw full exhaust out of 2 chamber flows so the sound of the car is kinda ok with me right now which I am sure will change. I know that I will get an off road H-pipe for the 1996 but I hear that MIL elliminators are needed?

I drive 26 miles one way to work so right now this car 100 times more comfortable to drive.

car looks great!

good luck finding MIL's. to my knowledge they have been outlawed but some sites still sell them (last time i checked)

you can either buy MIL's (again, if you can get your hands on them) or get a handheld programmer to turn the o2 sensors off

another option is to make a MIL yourself :D

ahh pacific green!!

plus the split 5 spoke rims, Back in the day a white vert like that was my dream stang

Got moved to talk I see!

Yea, This is the first GT I have owned that I have liked the stock rims and they are in great shape so I figure I will keep them. As far as the PI swap, I plan to get my 5.0L finished the way I originaly envisioned as a weekend/weekday driver and then I can get to work on the 'Vert.

BTW: Since the car has a new top I want to take care of it so to the vert owners, whats a good Florida care product to use on it?
