Weld wheels, help!!

Hey guys. I want to get a set of Weld Draglites for my 92 LX. I need to know what the sizes are that I need to fit the stock 4 lug and stock brakes. I want the rear ones to be able to hold at least a 245 wheel or maybe a 255 if that will fit on a 92 LX. For the front ones I want them to be "skinnies" but I dont know what size that is. I also dont know what the backspacing I need for the stock 92 LX is. Can someone help educate me a little bit on this. Thanks

I am pretty sure that for the rear I need like 15 x 8 or 15 x 10. Which ones do I need to fit a 245 or 255 size rear tire??
Same for front. Pretty sure I need a 15 x 4 or 15 x 6 but once again not sure. Also do I need the 4.5, 5.5, or 6.5 backspacing and do I need the 4.5 or 4.75 in bolt circle for the stock 4 lug?

15x10 will be way to big for a 255. 15x8 will be more suitable, but if you are going the drag slick route, why not just go with a 285-315?

I am pretty sure that size tire will not fit under a stock 92 LX without doing some rolling of the fender or something right?? I would love to do a 315 to be honest cause they look badass but I didnt think they would fit. These at first anyway bill be for more of a street tire and not a drag slick. They one day will get a set of drag slicks but mostly used with street tires.

My buddy has 16x8 drag lites with 245/50 DR's on em', they look wicked and hook great.

Get 15x8 with a 5.5 bs for the back and get some 275x50 nittos. aint sure what size you want for the front. I run skinnies and they are 3" with 1.75 bs running a 165 tire.

Will a 275 size tire fit under the fender without rolling it or anything and clear the quad shock?

i have welds 255 in the back and it's fine and i have skinnies in the front. and my wheels are for sale with tires they are 15's. i have 5 lugs now

255 should fit no problems... dunno about 275 it would be close

Nitto tires are said to run small, so a 275 Nitto brand tire is similar to a 255 BFGoodrich and would probably be fine on a 15x8 or even a 15x9. Anything larger than 275 BFGoodrich (or other brands besides Nitto) would be better suited for 10" wheels.

For a street car, I wouldn't recommend going very skinny in the front. Not only will that decrease your traction for turning, but it will also decrease your braking; this is because your traction (tires) are what stop the car, so less tire on the ground = less effective braking. The front disc brakes really do most of the braking on a Fox Mustang, and they obviously must utilize the front tires to work. I run 15x6.5's draglites on the front of mine w/ 195's and it seems fine, but 15x7's w/ 215's or 225's wouldn't hurt. I know some people run skinnies on the front - it can be done - but isn't the safest setup for a street car.

As said above, the nittos fit fine but I dont have quad shocks so dont know about that. I had BFG on it before and had to use a BFH on the inner wheelwells so they would rub. Totally agree on the skinnys, I will be going wider soon.

All's you have to do to fit a 275 or bigger is flip the quad shock. You don't lose the it's functionality at all, it's just flipped.

The problem I ran into with the 15x8 (5.5) and the DR 275/50 was they were rubbing my flowmaster LX pipes and the inside of the wheel wells and barely cleared the flipped quads.

I wanted to run 15x9 (5.5) but mounting them without tire, I could see they were too big. My car is lowered with H&R ss springs.

I didnt have any issues with rubbing the tailpipes, even when I was running the BFG drags which are quite a bit wider then the nittos.

Well when I say this is a street car I truly mean more of a fun weekend cruiser. I do drive the car to work but I live 2 miles from work so its not that big of a deal. I do not race on the street so I really dont think the skinnies up front will be a big issue but thanks for the information on that. You guys have got some ideas going through my head now of going with some 275's or so. Thanks for the good info.

i have quad shocks and nothing rolled and they fit. on hard cornering they rub a little but not bad at all. I believe i have a 1/4 spacer on with my 15x8 inch weld draglites with a 5.5 in backspace.
