weld wheels on a cobra? Can it be done? options?

I have a cobra i just bought. Its a 94 red on black and its bone stock. The first thing i plan on doing is putting some wheels on it. I love how my weld pro stars look on my 94 gt. I am affraid im going to have no traction if i go with a 17" wheel.

Is it worth downgrading rotors (maybe put some better calipers on? or should i do a 17" front with a 15" rear (very few wheels have both and when they have both they don't offer the widths i like), or should i just have a pair of 15"s just for track use (which i would prefer to have traction on the street too).

What other options do i have?

I think you can use a 15" in front with a spacer? Don't hold me to it, but I swore there was someone around here with a Cobra doing just that.

Tons of grinding and a 1" spacer and longer studs. Or put on a 99GT brake set-up and use a 3/8" spacer. I just bought some Bogarts for my car, they weld on the spacer and use different back spacing, I just need to install these longer ARP studs.

They do look good. I have been thinking about this for awhile now. I will have a decent amount of money to play around with and im thinking of doing a 2000 cobra R look with the 18" silver y2k's and just find a set of any old 15 X 10 for the rears when i go to the track.

I haven't quite decided though. Too many things to think about: supercharged or turbocharged, more of a road race suspension or drag, C4 or manual (which determines which gears i use) . I know exactly what i would do if i went all out one way or the other buy im trying to have the best of both worlds. (SCREW IT!!! I WILL JUST GO STEAL A GT)

with 1" spacer 15x3.5 w. 1.75" backspacing welds will fit no problem over cobra brakes, rears should clear as they are.

Chris with the rims, lug nuts, front caps, ARP studs was a tad over $1500 to the door. I purchased them through Spence Hart at Rhodes Custom Auto.
