Are weld prostars a good street wheel???I am thinking of buying them with the sizes of 15x3.5 front and 15x 10 in the rear. Are these wheel fitments to big, any suggestions will help me out a lot. I noticed u need to know backspacing for these wheels also, I need help out on that and tire choices. Any suggestions or anyone experiencing using these wheels will help me making a decision to buy the wheels. My current suspension setup are eibach pro kits with kybshocks and upgraded o.e size disc brakes to brembo crossed drilled.

If your upgraded brakes are any larger ... you may not be able to fit em on :shrug:

Those wheels are not gonna take a lotta abuse and if you hit a pothole ... you just may very well bend it.

Pizza cutter fronts can be a challenge on the street.

You ain't gonna be able to stop & corner like before ;)

I'm running the draglites, drove on them everyday for the last month. Handling sucks, front end pushes pretty easy, but I can still stop faster then most cars on the road.

I've seen the rear 11.75" cobra brakes fit over the 15" Welds without too much problem. They 13" fronts I have yet to see fit. I had to cut the cross bar off my brake on the front to get my wheels tucked in nice.

I'm running the 15x10" 6.5" backspacing with MT drag radials 275x55x15. tire rubbed gently against my Magnaflow exhaust but I hammered it over and its fine. Alot of people run the 15x8's, but I like how the 10" looks.

Fronts are 15x3.5" 1.75" backspacing and I'm running a 3/8" spacer to push them farther away from the brakes.

I have pro stars only in the 15x8 in rear. I wish I had 15x10's though. For the front I have a 99+ front caliper swap and a 7/16ths spacer.

They are my track rims and I would not daily on the fronts just for the fact its a small narrow tire. I have driven on the rears as I was testing out the small small small 235 bfg DR against the 315's on the daily rims (I switched back and forth for about a week each) with no issues.
 
I drove on 15x3.5 and 15x10 Draglites daily for about 3 months, I never even considered going carving corners with the skinnys up front haha, but brakings wasnt too much of a problem. I took them off though because I started to worry about them bending if i hit something hard (never have, but still) and the fact that rain season in FLORIDA was coming up, i didn't trust little 165's on the front in florida rain. But I think if you are carefull you should be fine
 
Oh and yeah I also cut that crossbar on the front brakes off so i could run them with just One 1/8th spacer. It's funny because you can always tell the cars that used to run Weld skinnys on front by their brakes LOL
 
anyone had experience with 15x5 or 6 in the front??does it change the look dramatically compared to the 15x3.5, i know the handling will improve. i need some suggestions, I might go with a wider tire up front for handling reason, but still want to keep the small and big tire setup.

My understanding is even if you moved up to 5 or 6 inch wide wheels you still are gonna have the same clearance issues up front.

IIRC, its not about the 3.5 is too skinny ... its about the back space.

I think it is the same on 3.5 or 5 or 6 inch wheels :shrug:

When I get around to doing my set ... I most likely will run 5 inch wheels up front.

I'll still get the weight savings, that great Pro Stock Look, AND not as squirrelly of a setup as the more narrow wheel will give.

IIRC, the front has no back space choices and I'm pretty sure you have a couple of back space choices on the rear.

Just go to the Weld Site and check it out.

Again, Jay has done all the research so you can just do as he did.

btw ... if you by chance were thinking about Nitto dr's they run a bit narrow so you can go with 8 inch if you are looking to save weight.

If you try to run them on 10 inch ... they MAY be stretched a bit too wide. Just remembering what I THINK I remember seeing someone say ... so be sure to check if you go in that direction.
