After weeks of trying to decide I finally decided to order the Pypes Violator axleback. I was torn between this one, MAC, and SLP, but after listening to hundreds of clips I decided that I like the Violator sound the best. I just hope that I don't regret it later with fitment issues or anything. I'll let you know how it works out when I install them, Brennspeed shipped them today so I should have them by Friday and on the car by Saturday. I can't want :D

Good luck. Pay close attention to the hangers. Some people end up putting them back on wrong, and that'll make the muffler hang wrong. When I put my stockers back on the other day, I had to try 2 or 3 different ways to get them back on so they sat right. And don't be afraid to loosen the over axle pipe. It makes adjusting everything very simple. Don't do this though until you have them lined up as much as possible already. They're great mufflers with the stock H pipe. They sound even better with an off road H pipe, but are insanely loud without cats.

I got them today. Man Brenspeed gets stuff to you fast! Didn't get a chance to install them yet, but they look to be pretty good quality for the price. One thing I noticed though, is it looks almost like the tailpipes aren't "clocked" correctly, like if you lay the muffler flat, the "PYPES" logo on the top of the tailpipe won't be at exactly 12 o'clock. I am thinking that this is intentional, and maybe the mufflers don't sit flat in the car. Am I right?

I didn't pay much attention, to be honest with you. Mine were pretty much flat when installed the the Pypes logo was lined up right. Guess you won't know 'till you get it installed.

And +1 on Brenspeeds super fast shipping. If I order before noon, I always get my stuff the next day.

I looked over it closer, and it's only one of them, the right side. But it is suck a small amount, that I think that even if the muffler sits flat, the talpipe is close enough that it won't be noticible unless you look at the logo. I was just worried that the angle of the slash-cut may look odd, but I think it will be fine, and I can probably **** the muffler slightly to make it perfect. Hopefully I'll run out of work early tomorrow so when the boss leaves I can put them on at work. If not, I'll still do it tomorrow, just laying on the ground instead of with my lift haha.

Ahhhh...you ordered without hearing mine??? :D

I have the polished T304 Violators on my GT. I had to bend the hangers a LOT to get them to fit right. I have about 1/2" clearance between the bumper fascia and the tips, and both tips are aligned precisely (measured using a gauge). The problem was Pypes welded in the forward brackets the wrong way. Had the front brackets faced the rear of the car (like the brackets closest to the tips) I could then push the mufflers in. Instead, I had to bend the hangers back and then forward to give it enough clearance. I installed them around October, when the weather got cooler so I always ended up with like a gallon of water in each muffler. I drilled a tiny drain hole in each muffler so the water would drain out.

They sound awesome IMHO and had I done it again, I probably would have gone with the T409 SS Violators or kept the stock axle backs.

Yeah, I decided that I really liked the sound of these, and didn't know how long it'd be before I got a chance to go hear your car.

I installed them today. They weren't TOO bad to install, but it could have went easier. If the hangers closest to the input weren't welded on the wrong way it would have went much easier. I adjusted them as best I could with fiddling with the over-axle pipe and whatnot. They still aren't perfect, namely both sides sit a little to the left, but I decided that the only way you can tell is with careful scrutinization like you're looking for it, otherwise they look good. The passanger side muffler does make a clunk sound if I hit it, because the hanger is all the way bound against the hanger on the car (because they are backwards). But I didn't hear it at all driving down the road so it should be ok. If the slight misalignment ever does get to me, I think I could make them perfect if I took the time to bend the hangers a little, but it should be fine.

I like the look of the new tips, they fill the cutouts much better than the tiny stock ones.

Now, as far as the sound, I am a little dissapointed. They sound really good, and have a mean tone to them, but I was hoping for them to be louder. Inside the car just driving around, they only sound a tad louder than stock (but much deeper). I had my dad revv it while I stood behind the car, and it is much louder than stock outside, but I'd still like it to be a good bit louder...

For a while I thought maybe I shoulda went with the SLP (I didn't because I was afraid it would be too loud), but I do really like the tone these have. I guess it's just time for an offroad pipe even sooner than I was planning lol.

I took the hangers off the car when I put mine on. It made the hangers going the opposite direction a non-issue. It sounds like they are pretty darned close. When I first installed my GT500 spoiler, I was obsessing about the gap. Now that it's been there, I don't even notice it. I'm sure noone will notice that they're just slightly off. If you start paying attention to other cars, you'll quickly realize how much other cars tips are off, even from the factory.

The Violators sound great, but with the stock H pipe, anything is going to be pretty quiet. I will say one thing. The Violators do break in. Expect them to be louder after a few thousand miles. But with having the stock manifolds and cats, it's not going to be ear piercing. If you want them very loud, they sound fantastic with an off road H. Otherwise, you could go with something with high flow cats. They'll be considerably louder, without waking the dead.

My passenger side Violator also makes a "clack" if you touch the tip depending on if it is cooling down or still hot. I don't hear it vibrate while driving.

I drilled 2 tiny drain holes and the lack of water buildup inside the muffler seems to have quieted it down a little (less drone).

I was also going to mention the hanger length. If they're coming close to the bumper support, you can cut the end off. I had a vibration on my driver's side because the hanger was contacting the bumper support. I cut about an inch off the driver's hanger.

There was no way my T304 Violator hangers would touch the bumper support. I wonder if there truly is a difference in the way they manufacture the T409 Violators. My issue was with the hangers closest to the mid-pipe. They were facing the differential, so I couldn't adjust the muffler properly. I noticed the Stingers and every other axle back had those hangers facing the bumper. This allows much more adjustment in how much the tips extend out of the bumper fascia.

That's the exact issue I had, because the foward most hanger is welded onto the muffler backwards.

Eventually I'll get a new X or H pipe. But for now, They are still an improvement and I love the look of the tips opposed to the tiny stock ones.

Did you try different combinations with the hangers? I'm pretty sure I turned the hangers a different way than stock for the Violators. The hangers being faced the other way did not inhibit my adjustment capabilities.

I know this is a lil' late but, Heavy's car sounds sweet as hell!!! Also, good choice on violators.

I dunno Heavy Vio's sound pretty sweet too.

No problems with installing Violators on my '07. Everything went the way it should have. You will like them. They have an old school deep rumble sound when you get on it.

Wouldn't drilling drain holes make them sound like an exhaust leak?

I think they are getting loder already, after the first day they seem a good bit louder. There is deffinitely a noticible rumble in the car when driving, and they are much louder outside. I am very happy with the sound and glad that I got them. Once I get high-flow or no cats to make it a bit louder, it will be perfect. I really like the look of the tips too. I was a bit skeptical when I first saw pics online, but after seeing them in person they are a nice improvement over the stock look.

I would go high flow cats and not go offroad, unless you want it to attract every cop you see. It sounds good with an off road h, don't get me wrong. But it's insanely loud.

I have heard the Stang idling while walking around it, and I can't really tell if it sounds like an exhaust leak. Once the entire exhaust is warmed up, it just sort of gurgles while idling but is OEM-quiet.

I did an experiment by filling up both Violators with water and quickly starting the engine before the water drained out via the holes. I could make it sound like backfiring by revving the motor and letting off the throttle. I recall the car doing this normally when I first start it up (probably due to water buildup from exhaust condensation) before I drilled the holes. I don't recommend you go out and drill holes but it was something I had been wondering about for awhile. The OEM mufflers all have drain holes that are punched towards the center of the case facing the differential. My driver's side always leaves more water than the passenger side.
