Again, i screwed up! You should never buy a carpet from store with dimmed lighting:bang: !

But otherwise, its okay. I used same way RF secure their box. using existing hole through the frame rail. Except with RF, they only use 1 bolt to secure its box, and i used 2 bolts on mine(1 bolt looked little less secure to me).
It was real pain tho. I had to locate the spot where bolts would go, then drill holes, and fiberglassed nuts in it so that i have something for bolts to screw in to. But since its not perfect like RF, JL, or MTX box, it does not sit flat. So first spot where i molded the bolts did not line up:nonono: , and i had to do it again.

I thought about painting it to same color as the car, and also thought about using vinyl. But i wanted to make it look like as it came from the factory like this. So carpet i used. But because color don't friggin' match at all, its still stick out like sore thumb! I guess i'll replace trunk floor carpet to match the box, and recarpet the side as well...
Now, i have to make something for amp and my changer....

you even try it out yet? Hows it sound?

Ya i tried it. But i used cheap 10 i had(old JBL GT sub. Its about 8 y/o. i haven't dicided on sub yet. lol), and sounded.... okay. I think box is little too big for it. May be i need to fill inside little. i'm thinking may be use MTX T6, but not sure yet. I like MTX stuff, but they do not come in DVC
Everything is just sitting there for now. Car is comming off of road very soon(think i'm gonna call insurance company Friday), so its gonna be this year's winter projects. I'm cheap, and I'm just going to use what i have(MTX Thunder 5400XW, MTX 5.25 front componets, Infinity 5x8 for rear). I just got sick of not having any trunk space with sual 10" MTX i had.
I think i'm gonna worry about Changer and amp mounting first, before worry about sub itself.

One good thing with this tho. When i had dual MTX 10" in there, it weigh almost 50lb alone. This box weigh about 5 lb. I gained like 1/4" on rear(no lie)

ya its sealed. What i meant by "Fill" is something solid. Box is too big. Its just under 1cu-ft. most 10"sub these days require only about 06cu-ft. Poly fill would act as box is bigger then actually is..

try using a bandpass box...I heard the hit pretty hard ..??? Just food for thought

They do within very narrow range of sound. But if i replace my huge dual 10" with another bandmpass, and they are usualy pretty big, that really defeats the purpose of doing this in the first place.
As far as bandpass goes, i think just because it hit "hard" does not mean its good sound. I had bandpass before, and it was loud, but i thought it sounded funky, because it hit so hard within narrow range(like 30Hz to 80Hz) and mid-base did not hit anywhere near hard, u get this sound of all base, and nothing else. Would be great for rap i guess, but i don't listen to rap, and i'm too old to be driving booming car.
And Ported box like Hense said, is another option. Ported box generaly have, IMO, nasty port noise(as with bandpass), but they hit hard in much wider range then bandpass. And since its located in trunk, port noise is really not an issue.
But when you compare sound of ported box and and that of sealed box, ported box don't hit as tight as sealed box. Kind of musinc i listen to - mostly 80's and some heavy metal - tight hitting base is much more appropriate.

So i'm going with sealed box. the issue with sealed box is that it need alot of amp to get louder sound. I only have Class D mono pushing 200rms. So i need DVC, so that i can get most out of my amp(and not buy another amp)

whar size amp are you runing, and what ohms are your speaker

MTX Thunder 5400XW, 400watts x 5. Of that, 1 channel is dedicated Class D Monoamp for sub. Sub is old JBL GT1000. its 4ohm. donno supposed to handle like 500watts or something like that. I had it kicking around for the longest time, so i used it. Its temporaly until i find something more suitable.
