Well, now I've gone and done it...

Yea, and hope they don't try and weasle out a cancellation on you! All those horror stories of people who were first in line for a GT500...only to be asked to pay more, and more and more to stay on top.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. Its true that I couldn't wait any longer as I've been looking for a new car for the past 18 months or so...to the point that I was shying away from a Stang to something else...but fear not I'm back in full force! =-)

If Dreadnaught's predictions come true, and there is a S/Cer option on this car, it WILL be the car I've always wanted. This couldn't have come at a better time.

I truly hope they don't back out. Keep us posted. I know of three guys who were handed their deposits back already.

Dealership I *just* bought my '07 GT from had three. One walked off the lot as I was there, lucky bastard, the other two are still sitting.

$30,000 cash for markup and then the rest of the sticker price however you want it. No bank will finance $30,000 in markup, heh.

I saw a GT 500 today. It's waiting at my dealer for the buyer who gave almost $20,000 over sticker. I'm glad I saw it because I no longer lust for one. I hate the wheels. The things on the hood look like plastic and some 3m tape. The interior is not that much different from my 2005.
What's up with the door sill that says SVT?? I thought SVT was no more. Shouldn't it say GT 500?
At any rate I was not that impressed. It might be worth the sticker and I might think more about it had I driven it. But based on looks alone, I'm waiting for the Shelby GT if the price is right.

Missed those. I could have sworn I had read that SVT was no more. And that included SVT dealers which would permit all Ford dealers to sell Cobras. Even my dealer said he thought that too. (He's not an SVT dealer and got a GT 500 because he won the President's Award this year.)
