Wellp, looks like i messed my car up, please help

well im an idiot

yesterday me and a bud got drunk and i decided to wash my engine bay.
Now its misfiring and not acclerating like it should, its acting hesitant and bumpy. What did i mess up?

pull each plug wire and spray with wd-40 at the plug and coil end should help

Try just letting it run for a while. sometimes it will dry out. If not, start puling the cop's and use paper towels to dry the water out of each plug hole, then check all the electrical connectors. I usually spray a little wd40 in the connectors.

I had the same situation. Throughly dry each plug, this means removing them to dry or replacing, and make sure the coils are dry.

I can't tell you the amount of times I've seen this. The COP's don't make a perfect seal with the head and it allows water to get in. I wash my exterior very often but I never spray water under my hood. If you decide to wash the engine, be ready to pull out each COP, which isn't that hard by the way, and use compressed air to dry out the plug holes. If you don't do this soon, you'll get a check engine light with a missfire code.

dry out the COPs, and clean the MAF with some good connector cleaner.

I'd change your plugs, and the oil maybe?

Ok, forgive me here, but why would you recommend that he change his oil? The wires I could understand and even the plugs to some very rare extent, but unless he was blasting the water directly into his intake track, I have no idea why you would suggest changing the oil?

I've never had any problems with washing mine. Dry it out as the others said.

Also get a can of compressed air (from Radio Shack) and spray out the spark plug wells.

well fixed it, me and the same friend decided it was about time to replace the spark plugs (82k miles) and at the same time since my iac was goin south i replaced that too. Put all new platinum spark plugs in and the new iac and it runs like a champ now. The old plugs were real nasty lookin, corroded and one had rust on it. I cleaned out each plug socket with compressed air (thank god for air compressors) and got a crapload of dirt that was in there...Runs great now, thanks guys
