...for the first time. Pretty cool actually. $8/car to get in for 2 movies. Neither movie was all that great....space chimps and babylon ad. It was still pretty fun. I would suggest going if you've never been.

I used to go all the time when I was younger. Drive-ins are a dying American past time. Seems they have gone the wayside over the years. There should be more around than there is.

Yeah the one by us that we go to all the time has this 10 minute long depressing-as-hell clip about how drive-ins are a dying American pass time and how the movie industry takes so much money from the admission that the concession money is all they make in profits, and that basically if you like the drive-in then you'll buy some damned popcorn...lol

There used to be two around here and they tore one down a while ago, I remember when I was three or four years old my dad took us to see a Chuck Norris film festival and some horror movie where a kid almost gets hit by a semi; this was at the one thats gone now it had two humongous screens.

The other one is still open I haven't been there in a long long time, the screens are bigger than the one above.

Yeah we got the same speech over and over about how we needed to buy food/drinks. The screen didn't seem as small as it looks in the picture but I did find it a little hard to get into the movie as first. That probably could have been due to the suckage factor of the movie itself. Having the sound play through your radio was pretty sweet though.

Well, I gotta say.. I may be too young but I didn't even know they still existed.. haha

*EDIT*

I was kind of wanting to check it out, so I looked up drive in's in Jersey, there's only 1 and its 2 hours away, oh well..

Some of my earliest memories are of my parents taking my sister and I with them to drive-in movies.

This is back when drive-ins got first-run movies. They'd usually had a feature for kids, followed by the main feature. My sister and I would be asleep in the back seat before the 2nd movie even began.

There's a couple of drive-ins within a 45 minute drive of us. I need to get to one before their gone too.

i have a rather large drive in about 7 miles away and it gets all the new movies. great place to get freaky. i usally go in the winter lol. i saw cloverfield. and """"saw""" the eye

its good in the winter because you dont have to use the boxes anymore. you just tune it to a radio station. they have like 6 different areas for different movies. its pretty big.

Oh man....I think they tore the last drive in around here down about 20-years ago? And the other one went about 5-years before that. :(

I vaguely remember seeing The Empire Strikes Back at the Drive in as a kid!

I remember them as a kid, but a LOT in our area have closed.

We still have 2 open and me the lady friend plan to go sometime very soon. I'm not sure I would rock the Mustang there, Im thinking the truck, and toss a mattress in the bed :D. Might be something different.

Also our theaters appear to play all the new movies, which I thought was odd.

We have one about 10 minutes away. I would never want to go in a car though. My truck is pefect at the drive in. I have a good stereo with a sub so you lay in the bed and open up the slider and it's better than a home theatre system with the sub right on your back. Got a remote and everything :nice:

We have one about 15mis away from where I live and it is PACKED every night its open. Usually there is 20+ cars parked along the side of the road waiting to get in. Its pretty cool I go usually once a year but when I was younger we went about 1-2 times a month.
