Well i got the tank out yesturday and the new pump in. But have you ever tried to disconect fuel lines without the tool? Let me tell you it SUCKS, but i finaly got it and replaced, i got a tool but i had to modifie it a little to make it work, so now all i need to do is get the new seals for the tank today. I got all the lines ran and all i have left to do now is do the solenoid's and do the electrical. peace

Did you use a tranny jack and secure the tank with straps.

Knew a guy got crushed by a gas tank when it fell on him, family eats dog food now because he can't work.

My dad was workin' on his '67 Firebird and it slipped off the jack and the rear end landed on his chest. If he wasn't such a mechanic and was able to keep a cool head, he probably would have died under there.

I am pleased to hear that your install has gone fairly well. Though, I do recall, amidst your plethora of posts, that you inquired as to what was needed to do the in-tank pump, as well as the degree of difficulty. The fuel line tools are extremely cheap at your local auto store...we are talking around five bucks. I hope you did not ruin anything throughout the course of your install while utilizing various hillbilly methods to disconnect the fittings. Congratulations on the install!

:nonono: If you recall i did buy a tool for $3.99 and it wasent the right one! So i didnt vouch for the $80.00 tool that i would only use one time! There's a diffrece in hilbilly way's of doing stuff and trust me even tho i did do it the hillbilly way i dont mangle it so i cant reuse or reinstall something! I know when i go to far with stuff and i stop at that point so i dont do more harm! peace
