Is it difficult to get a new tranny after my problems I have had..

1... complained about the notchiness
They refilled the transmission fluid told me to drive it 500 mi.

2... went back in about same problem... told about the 3650 tsb
They hassled me about it for 3 days and said it was the clutch

3... Finally got them to install the 3650 TSB fix...

4... They had to replace the tranny housing..
THey said they found a hairline crack in the housing... probably
cause they over torqued the bolts

5... Finally got the car back 3 weeks later and took it very easy for 500 mil
I didn't shift over 3500 rpm for 500 miles...

6... It has been 500 miles and the transmission in Neutral sounds like the transmission is going to fly out of it. It is embarrasing... You can hear it loud standing outside the car with the magnaflow exhaust...

At this point I am about ready to tell the dealer I want a new transmission with the fix pre installed...

What do you think my odds are?

These 3650's SUCK!!!

how many miles do you have? if its under 36,000 miles bring it in and say if they dont completely fix it, you will take it to the lemon law board. my engine building teacher was on the ford lemon law board, they let people argue their case and then they would decide if ford should buy the car back.

I agree.

The Tranny is part of that 36,000 mile warranty. You have a record with that dealship on how many probs you have had with it. they SHOULD get you a whole new tranny free of cost to you! SHYT! Sue da fuakkahz!

arg I hate dealerships......they are all nice when you wanna buy a car and the service is great..and then once you got a problem with the car after you buy it, then they dont care about your problemz it seemz!
Damn service dept!

I took my GT in with 12000 miles on it, because of the 2nd-3rd grind. They took it apart 3 times, each time it was worse. I wouldn't take it back from them because the tranny was whining so loudly it was rediculous. I took it around the block and drove right back to the dealership and threw the keys right into the service reps face. He told me that it was fixed, his guys wouldn't lie to him. At this point I was ready to go over the counter at him as I yelled " what so you are calling ME a liar? Let me add that they had my car for 23 days at this point. The service manager came running out of his office and said he would take care of it tomorrow. 3 days later I had my car back with a new tranny in it. He had to go through his district manager to get a new tranny right off the line at Tremec. Moral of the story, don't take any crap from these guys, tell them to put in a new tranny. 99% of their technicians are not qualified to rebuild transmissions. Its a very difficult job, tolerances are within millemeters and they can't tell if its right until its put back together. Anyway, I ended up buying the service manager dinner, I'm not totally insane! :spot:

good luck, if you have any mods to your car then they will blame that. I just went threw a month of hell with my local dealership to get my trans fixed, it was stuck in revers and all they could say is I had aftermarket parts that affected the trans, they kept pointing out that I had no cats. well after having my car for three weeks they finally fixed my car but when I picked it up the check engine light was on and they again hid behind the its the mods thing instead of taking resposibility for their mistake, I had to go threw alot of trouble and had a meeting with the general manager about it all and they finally fixed the car. Well here it is not even a month later and as I drive the car will ocassionally pop out of 5th gear and gets stuck in rev sometimes, but not permentantly like before. dealerships suck and they blame the customer for everything.

This car has only 13500 miles on it.. So I am going in this morning to see about a new tranny... This 3650 is a piece of crap. It actually ran better with the old tranny in... I mean at least the 1-2 2-3 shift is better... but the tranny is 10x as bad now with excessive gear noise. I agree when they switch housings and rebuilt the Tranny the tolerances changed and that is why I have so much play and noise.

Well, I will be dropping it off in a hour or so, so I will let you all know what happens.

Check around your area to see f there are any cool dealerships. I just had my tranny replaced under warranty and the guy new I sprayed it. I gave him some money of course, so it was a guaranteed fix, and next time I go in for anything I'll be ok.

Well good news the shop foreman test drove the car and he agrees that the tranny is all F'd up. I requested the possibility of getting a new tranny, since this situation has been going on for 6 months... he is supposed to get back with me in the morning as there tranny tech was out today....

At least he agree's the tranny is still messed up though... I was afraid of getting the its normal speech.

Well the dealer is getting me a brand new tranny... supposively right from Tremec. I asked if it had the fix included and they weren't sure... but it will be one of the newest ones they have. They are going to check on that for me though. They said it would be here in about 7-10 days so they gave the car back to me until it comes in.

They already fixed my tranny once for the TSB but it was installed incorrectly... left every aftermarket piece I had on... and I have a lot. They even put my PO 5.0 shifter back on with no questions asked at all. It all depends on which dealer you go to I guess.
