What are the advantage of L/T headers?

hmm... that's a good question. From what I've heard in the past, yes they can take away power. BUT that was on a stock headed STOCK car... not one making almost 400rwhp. Given that, I think you will not lose anything. Will you gain anything... that's a guess in anyones book. They are supposed to help more with the mid and lower rpm power, so you may pick up there. I was hell bent on getting a set for my car, but I'm just not as sure anymore that they are THAT much better than a set of shorties in my case. If you can't tell, I'm up in the air on this one. Most knowledgable engine builders will tell you longtubes are the only way to go though...

OK I think I will start shopping for a Bling pair then.

Who makes the best in bling and quality?

I will have my Bassani ='s for sale soon as well as an O/R H and an Bassani X w/cats. My O/R Bassani X is already spoken for when it comes off but if it falls through I will have that one up for sale also.

From what I’ve heard from friends who have gone from shortys to long tube they have felt and I quote "A world of difference going from shortys to long tubes". These where guys running 12's N/A and low 11's and the giggle gas. So my guess would be you have everything to gain and really nothing to lose in your situation (hp wise). There is only one real way to find out :nice: .

MAC makes a ceramic coated long tube for 94-95's, but they're back ordered until late July.

My old roomate saw a 6rwhp gain from shorties to LT's, his only mods were Performer intake, cat-back and off-road H-pipe. He had no loss in power the whole dyno pull wich was 2500-6000rpm.

i really like my bbk long tubes and they are ceramic coated as well so they look good too . and i really think they will help in the hp dept too they lowered my underhood temps because of the coating . and plug wire clearance is better too . i think there are more +'s to going with them than not ?and they make x pipes to go with them now too even though mine sound s like it has an x with the h-pipe i have ???it's up to you but i am real happy with my exhaust note with the long tubes .

How long have you had them on? I just want to know do they fade or peel or lose their color at all? Ceramic coating is the way to go right b/c all chrome ones will change color?
Is there a pair that comes chromed w/o turning colors?

Yeah the cheap chrome ones turn the color of YOUR car. :rlaugh:

Pretty much every dyno test ive seen with different headers has had the shorty unequal's making the most PEAK power, and the longtubes making the most power under the curve. The longtubes usually blow the shorty's away in the low and midrange, huge gains..

94SC50, i was in the same position you are right now. i asked around and the majority said to go with l/t and prochamber(something about making more than x and h) i have sound clip if you want to listen to it. also, the MAC vs BBK thing, you will never get a solid answer, people have good things and bad things about each. i decided to stick to the mac ceramic l/t, cause i heard that people had problems with the bung on the BBK. mustangwarehouse.com has the mac headers for $395 free shipping. they don't like BBk at all, as i recently found out, so for them mac is the way to go. if you need to see some threads i have started, let me know and i'll send you the links. oh, and about the advantages, like YELLOW95COBRA said, they give the most hp throughout the band, as i've been told.

I just got some myself..lol
A blower car needs all the exhaust flow help it can get...you'll def. gain power.
I think a set of 1 5/8 BBK Ceramics would look purty on your car.
