To briefly restate my prob:
86 with a 302 carb (Edelbrock 1405) transplant
at 3000-3200 rpm starts spitting and sputtering til you slow down or shift gears.
I leaned towards timing and received helpful posts on what to check and do.
Timing was set at 10 btc. (Prob still there)
Replaced wires & plugs (gapped at .50 per Haynes Manual) (Prob still there)
Ignition is (according to pn) 84 tfi-iv
Anyway, I checked the fuel pressure. At idle, I'm at 7lbs (mechan pump) when I get the rpm up, my prob kicks in and fuel pressure goes to 4.
My fuel line is steel and rubber (don't know why). What are the odds of maybe a peice of the rubber collapsing or maybe sucking air around one of the hose clamps when more fuel is needed? I've gotten steel lines to replace but am I reaching or could this be an actual probability? Should I lean more towards an electrical or ignition problem?
Thanks
