What Are These And Do I Need Them?

The one circled with no area isn't hooked to anything. So I know its useless. But what is it? The ones bolted to the shock tower. What are they. There are vacuum lines to most of them coming from the fender area.

I think they are for the EGR smog stuff, but im unsure. I no longer have any of the EGR, smog, or similar on my car. So if these are for that. Then I could just unplug and tuck away the harness correct?

I would really like to remove these things and stuff the extra unused wiring down into the fender to create space. I want to mount my oil catch tank in this location. Deleting these parts would make life much easier...

The top one is your purge canister solenoid from fuel tank to charcoal canister. The other two are the tab and tad valves. They divert air from the smog pump to either the cats or the thermactor ports on the back of the heads. If you unplug them your computer will be unhappy. In fact, it will be happier if all of the stuff was functioning properly.. If you remove it and throw it away you will regret it unless you are swapping over to a standalone fuel spark system like FAST or megasquirt.

I have an AEM. Just not hooked up yet.

I don't have cats either. Or any of the A/C parts. Very basic set up. No frills...

Is there a way to "trick" the ECU with a resistor like some do for the EGR removal?

like mentioned before, when removing all emissions equipment, either get a stand alone engine management like MSPNP or PiMP or leave the emissions alone. the stock computer relies on this stuff. The stand alones do not look for this stuff therefore is does not create headaches

No. Best way is to just leave it unplugged so the computer knows it's not there and disables it. Your check engine line will be on.


Short of a custom engine tune to remove all these features, it really is best to leave them all on and intact. It's jus tmore cclutter, but costs 0 HP.
