What cam, and rockers for for my setup with 40p heads.

That link will help you out, there are a couple of guys getting 300 out of p heads. The Comp Cams XE270HR was in a car that made 300 wheel. My room mate has the 2031 in his car and it works pretty well with the P heads & 1.6rrs.

Well whenever i get off my lazy butt ill let you know cause my gt-40's will be getting new valvesprings, locks, retainers, lifters, my tfs1 cam. Just got to get my tb first so the power pipe and 80mm pro-m can go back on.

Dyno #'s are cute but the 1320 is the real test!!!

My 3600lbs convertible went 12.48 in the 1/4 and best mph over 108(diff. run) on P-heads and E-cam. Other mods were 65mmTB, 75 Pro-M, 24# inj. and RPM II intake. Also 4.10 gears and1.6RR's.

However it ran about the same with explorer intake and 19#ers.
Idle was never a problem and keep in mind with our cars the computer will run it lean so you need a tuner anyways.

BTW my A/F ratio was at 16 at higher RPM's so you can imagine if I had a tuner I should have gotten better #'s.

My reply is not to disagree but to offer a different opinion based upon a different goal.

The real test as you put it is valid for sure but.................

What if your application is for a street car that might see the 1/4 mile a time or two or maybe never?

Those cute rwhp and especially the rwtq dyno curves tell me volumes about how a combo is gonna be for a street car driven on the street.

All of the above looks like to me like you had a Flyin Vert and 1/4 mile times to prove it with a good bit more performance not tapped.

Only prob with using 1/4 mile performance to judge or compare with is........
Some peeps just can't drive too well down the 1320 and some can really do it really well. Another thing not to be forgotten is the efficiency of the car to launch well for a good 60' time can make a world of difference.

If you just study, research, compare, or whatever you wanna call it, the dyno curves of various combos you see on this site you will see so many that put up an impressive rwhp number and curve but when you look at the rwtq curve ...... that is where things really start to get different.

If you got a soft low to middle rwtq curve, that combos 1/4 mile performance will be less than what it could be if the curve was more optimum.

However

IMHO, that difference would be way more noticable when driving around on the street.

For a street car ....................

rwhp numbers and 1/4 mile et's don't always tell the complete story.

Peeps need to be honest with themselves about their combo expectations and build with that in mind or ...... things might not turn out as expected.
