What cam goes best with gt40p heads?

So ive decided what im going to do. Im going to rip my 302 down when it blows and im gunna use the shortblock and use gt40p heads with a lower intake and custom upper intake to fit an eaton m112 supercharger. So whats the best to use that goes with gt40p's and is cheap. Cuz im on a crazy slim budget.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The camshaft is the brain of the engine and is really the biggest contributor to how the engine acts and performs. At ~300-350$ for a good shelf or custom grind, it is also the least expensive part of the H/C/I. It is the LAST place you want to cut corners and try to pinch pennies on. If you can't afford a decent cam, stick with the stock one until you can.

On a budget as slim as you're makling yours out to be, the stock cam supports enough power to see the block turn into two inline 4 cylinders rather than a single V8. Stick with the stock cam, but upgrade the valvetrain.

No not another alphabet cam thread......

If you're slapping a blower on then skip the cam change. You can install 1.72 rockers for slightly more lift on the stock cam. Like mentioned make sure the valvetrain is up to par.

Anderson Ford Motorsport has some nice grinds that work well with the GT40 castings.

If stuck with a stock cam, i always felt the 85-88 Cam would be the one to use....with 1.72 RRs

Agreed. I have the TFS Stage 1, and its a good cam. I wish I had used the Anderson N41, but I was trying to save cash when I built. But, AFM wants $300 for their cams, another $50 and you can go custom. A lot of guys really like the stock cam, so much so that AFM actually sells a "blue printed" stock cam....again, $300 though.

TFS Stage 1 is cheap and would work good or like others have said stock cam with a 1.7 Rocker for more lift .

I was under the impression the AFM "stock" cam was for drag classes that require the stock cam, not necessarily for people just wanting a stock cam. Could be wrong, I guess...

The stock cam really isn't anything that great, but it is sometimes better to stick with it than blow money on a junk, obsolete aftermarket cam (like the letter cams).

CompCams XE264HR-12 with 1.7 roller rockers. You'll need to upgrade the valve springs though.

tfs 1 ftw. $170 new. cheaper than the letter cams. cheaper than other off the shelf cams
