what compression ratio for nitrous ?

what is the highest compression ratio u can go to run nitrous on pump gas in a 2v ? A freind has a set JE forged pistons but they are 11.5:1 compression ratio would this be to much compression to run n20 on pump gas? i plan on usign N/X 100-150 Shot at the most !

Could get messy. Maybe a small shot, but it's pretty hard to tune safe with a compression ratio like that on a street car. You'll need a lot of timing retard.

Nitrous itself loves higher compression,but yes you'll have to drop your timing about 8 degrees with a 100 shot. You also may run into general drivablity problems with that much compression on pump gas.

i dont think pump gas can satisfy a 11:5:1 compression ratio..and im also pretty sure that with nitrous and that compression i would try to find some 101 octane

I've been running a 11.1 compression motor in my car for 7 months on pump gas and have no problems at all. You definitly will need timing taken out of your car but it should be fine. I will have numbers here shortly on a built motor, pi heads, pi intake and a 200 shot of nitrous.
