What do i need to do to run just my water pump and alternator?

Do i need to relocate my alternator? i have no need for the power steering A/c delete and smog delete and want to make the engine bay look cleaner... so how should i go about getting rid of everything? thanks

I found this to be harder that anticipated.

I made some brackets from flat bar from Lowes and a 6 rib idler pulley to mount in the area the ac compressor used to be. This let me keep the tensioner in the stock location.

March makes a bracket specifically to do this task, pn 1460. It would have been cheaper than my homemade setup......

Some have reversed the tensioner which works also.

I think the ultimate is to go to a regular direction water pump which is what I plan to do soon.

You can also run a classic mustang setup, but this would require relocating the alt and a traditional rotation WP. You can then use a V groove or a 6 rib belt, just much shorter.

well i have a A/C Delete on the car now, if i leave that will that give me proper tension on the belt?

I am getting a Electric w/p, no a/c, no smog, no p/s, only the crank to the alternator. I plan to use the March alternator bracket for older mustangs locating the alternator near where the smog used to be.

About 2000hrs and the motors are replacable/rebuildable. That's a long time.

Anyone have a part number for a standard rotation water pump (reverse of stock) for a 93 302? I have asked at all the parts stores and unless they can look it up on their computer it doesn't exist.

i used the march kit...i can't remember part numbers right now, but the one i have does away with the tensioner and puts a nice idler pulley in its place and the alternator becomes the tensioner. Realy great quality, cleaned up the bay alot and the billet aluminum looks great well worth the money

from jegs the part number is 555-51070 for their brand standard rotation pump

Thanks for the PN. Now I have something to work with.

I have another question now. Does anybody make a ribbed water pump pulley? How about a ribbed tensioner pulley?

Currently I have March alternator bracket, and the bracket that moves the tensioner to where the PS used to be. I am not sure if I like this setup. I may dump the tensioner and go with a standard rotation pump. If I keep the tensioner I would like a ribbed or at least flanged aluminum pulley so the belt cant walk off. If I dump the tyensioner and change to a standard WP I would like an aluminum ribbed water pump pulley.

I know I can use v-belt pulleys but would like to stick with a serpentine setup if possible.

That isn't a bad price as long as it is a decent water pump and not remanufactured junk.

I already have everything in that kit minus the ribbed pulley and standard rotation pump which can be had for $50-$75. That is the alternator bracket I have. Which by the way doesn't work with a 3G alternator unless you make brackets for the tie rod.

Anyway what I am saying is that kit is great, I wish I would have seen it a few months ago. Does anybody have a source for just the ribbed pullies?

But like I said I am not sure if I like it or not.
I would feel better about it if I could get rid of the smooth tensioner pulley.
