What do y'all think of flat black notches?

I'd have to wonder if the all black (even flat) wouldn't exaggerate the rough condition of the car. If there are different colors, or bare rusting metal requiring primer anyways, then I say yeah do it, all of any one color is better than many.

As far as the wheels go, There is a translucent black paint treatment called black chrome that you could spray over the chrome that'll give you what you are looking for.

I think primer is a good alternative to a crappy paint job especially if your in the process of doing body work and finishing it..... primer is not good for a long period of time though, it is highly absorbant, hence why it is used as a base layer. Just dont be one of those people that sprays primer or flat black paint and never intends on doing an actual paint job. Also primer starts looking like crap if you get dirt, grease or scratches on it, especially black.

I love the flat black look, especially with chrome wheels. Its an awesome contrast and if its well pulled off it looks really good.

I'd rather have a clean/straight flat black car than one with a terrible orange pealed and fisheyed nightmare Maaco paint disaster.

Flat black notches are awesome, As long as its an actual flat black paint job and not just primered black. If you gonna prime it black, dont wait to awful long to paint it, cause as it was previouslly stated, primer is very absorbant.

Personally, I don't care for flat black on any car. However this is your car so do with it as you wish.

Well, mine is heading that way as well. Crappy Maaco paint job from the last owner, in need of some dent and ding treatment, and the LX conversion, it's going to need it for a while. Just do it good, it looks fine.

I think it looks good. I sprayed mine after it went up in flames; it was white.

Are you using rattle can primer? If not, there are tintable primers, so other colors could be an option.

Flat black paint jobs always remind me of the guy I saw with a beer can in one hand and a Krylon can in the other standing in the street painting his late '70s chevy pickup. Gives whole new meaning to "custom paint"
