If you're really serious about buying one you might have to travel to find what you want....and you might end up spending some cash to get it but you could end up spending a couple grand less in the long run. You should look around my area. The whole Cincinnati/Dayton area....hell pretty much Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana is a hotbed for Mustangs.

Yea, I would agree also that price is alittle steep. I got lucky I only paid $2600 for my 5.0

Either you got the deal of a life time or your cars a piece of ****!!!! 5 grand for a decent 5.0 is nothing out of the ordinary, even 6 grand isnt bad. When reaching 7 grand and above take into account of the overall condition of the car. Do what FarBeyondDriven said and run a car fax to make sure. Other wise if it checks out ok offer him 55-5800 and go from there.

I think a lot of the problems with people not agreeing on price is just a demographic issue. Some areas it's gonna be hard to find a clean Fox because of rust issues and just plain old popularity and availability. Around me, 5k is going to get you a seriously badass ride, if not just a VERY clean and lower miles Fox. I could understand that in an area where there's lots of snow and there isn't much to choose from, you might have to shell out a little more for what you want....that's why i suggested shopping around and considering a little traveling to get the car you really want. In the end if you have to go South to find the car you want, it'll probably be cleaner and cheaper than if you buy it from an area where clean Fox's are a diamond in the rough.

yes area has a lot to do with it.....i would try to find one thats not modded at all...most of the mods that car had are cheap and easy to do...and chances are if you find a stocker the owner probley wasnt beating the crap out of it every chance he get.

these are general rules here of course you always come across the great deals

in michigan if you want a rust bucket fox they are around 2k

if you find one that has been beat/modded but not very well maintenced they usually go for 2.6k

if you find a bone stock car that seen some possible winter duty but not enough to get rusty they usually are around 3.6k

if you find a car that was stored for the winter that is stock to modded the range usually goes from 4.2k to 5.6k and 5.6k is extrememly high from what i have found.

i think since your close you should serch michigan...and buying a fox from a dealer to me is not something i would recomend....they have no experience with the car it came in on trade and they just want to flip it if you serch private listing you will find someone who had it for a long time or modded it themselves and have a special bond with it. you can talk about everything thats installed get an idea if it seen snow duty at all and get a feel if the car is worth your time..

since im in michigan i always start with the ever seen winter driving question. then all you have to do is get on your back and look under the car it will be very ovious if the guy is trying to pull something on you its usually how i find out if the guys trying to flip cars or if its something he has had and wants to keep.

i got my 93 vert gt bone stock from a guy that was getting divorced and wanted anything but his ex-wife to get the car, it had higher miliage but just from looking at it was immaculatly taken care of. i still paid more for it then the average but at the time they werent as big in the area

So I went to see it and it was NICE. Seems to me that it has the full GT40 package from the intake, heads, and cam, and whatever comes with it. The "holley fuel injection" seemed to be just a throttle body? It has a mass air flow and blue 24# injectors. The a$$ would not take $6000 so I left. I'm gonna keep looking and as a last resort I'm gonna get it for $6500. I know, I know, but I'm tired of looking at all the rusted junk everyone is selling around Chicago.
BTW Black interior and he had three nice other ones on the lot. The one above was the cheapest one there.

I made a post a while back on this car cause i was looking at buying it. the guy is a complete dick and he gave me the same crap. I said $6K out the door which i thought was still steep and he laughed. I laughed back at him and the bastered hun up on me twice and had the nerve to call me back and ask me "so are you going to buy the car or not". I laughed again and told him i have a better car lined up with half the miles for a grand cheaper than what I was offering him and hun up..The interior on this car is not the best and the undwerside was rusty....he started it up and it did sound strong tho, but not for the price...

Well the car is still there if you want it. I just gotta be patient buying this car. Like you said the interior was not great and too many dings and dents. Big dents on the roof? That was little wierd. He can hold on to it. With spring around the corner people will act like that selling mustangs.

Go in there with $6k in cash and put it down in front of him and tell him to give you the keys. He won't turn down the money right in front of him. $500 isn't enough to lose a sale over.

Someone will buy that car for that price esp. if the lot will do the financing.
I dont know how long you have been looking for one, but I can only say be patient. When I made the decision to get back in the saddle my wife made me write down all that I wanted and said that we would not even look @ another car without those specs. We made an agreement between each other (wife and I) about getting another one. Im actually glad she made me do that. If it would of not been for that agreement I would be driving an auto 92GT with 100K for $6000. When I brought that particular car up and showed it to her she said nope it's not a 5spd. She made me fill out the list because she said she wasn't going to listen to me bitch about not getting what i wanted in a year.
I know this is a long post, but face it, these things are only getting harder to come buy. I got lucky I found what I wanted. It had all on the list and also leather .
There is a lot here that has about 5-6 foxes on there lot. I can check them out for ya but you will need to drive to pick it up.
I drove 4 hours to get mine. I would drive 15hrs to get what I got . So it was worth the wait.
GOOD LUCK

Thanks for looking for me but an AOD is out of the question. I have an eye on a very nice notch but its $$$. I'll just sit back and wait till I get that perfect one like it was said earlier in the thread here.
Now if only my fiancee was as understandable as you guys are.
:SNSign:
BTW That is Foxx motorsports or whatever but their cars are way overpriced.
