I'm just now getting into the engine mods, first had to get it to shine.

so my question is, what do you guys think i could get in power and torque gains and what my time could be with this setup:

Trick Flow Twisted Wedge 5.0L Track Heat Engine Kit
Bassani X full exhaust (shortie headers, o/r x pipe, cat-back)
3.73 gears
Lentech valve body
BBK cold air intake
Edelbrock 70mm TB
75mm MAF
12? to 14? timing advance

This will all be on a currently stock 91 5.0 LX AOD

by the way, i'm looking into putting $4500-$5000 into this, so I want to get the most bang for my bucks. If there's anything better out there, let me know.

My advice would be a good converter like the Street edge from Edge Racing or stallion from Precision industries. Even with the h/c/i and gears a stock aod would still be holding you back. Also if you get a converter dont forget a tranny cooler also.

well eventually i would like to swap in a T5 so i was thinking just the valve body would work for now. since this will take a lot out of my pocket, sadly i can't swap in the tranny quite yet.

Me, If I had 4500-5000 to put into my completely stock engine. It would be a t/c all the way.

That one is $3700.00. I understand if you want to stay naturally aspirated. Take the rest for injectors, gear, etc.

you know, i've thought about either doing a super or turbo charger, but i don't know if my AOD will hold up to it. I'd be really interested in putting one on if it would hold up until i could do a tranny swap. i may not evne do the tranny swap though if i like the valve body. and for only $3700, i could wait an extra month and do the h/c/i upgrade aswell, if it'd hold up and just wait on the exhaust (which i wouldn't need the headers or x pipe anymore). or go with the kenne bell blowzilla 2200 supercharger for $3400. what do you guys think of that?

but... i do want to keep this street legal, i enjoy cruising around on the weekends with it.

so i think i figured it out, i'm going with the trick flow kit and the pro turbo systems turbo kit (http://www.turbo-kits.com/mustang_turbo_kits.html) so now i'm looking at around $7500 now. Going with the TF kit first, that way I'll have the intake and everything ready to go, then in a few months the turbo!

actually I would go with a different set up....I would go with the hellion turbo kit. Its a single turbo and you can upgrade up to a t76. It is proven to give 520rwhp on a completely stock 5.0. Thats obviously not smart considering that block is a time bomb lol but you could lower the boost (its starts at 8#) amd rin about 400rwhp safely!

I was looking at hellion since alot of people seem to like them on here, but their site says for 5-speeds only

but really i'm not looking for a super high HP. i was mainly wondering what that h/c/i combo would get me and then maybe the turbo. who knows though, spending that kind of money i could always just get a brand new 351 or something.

LOL, Where does it end? How much money do you really want to put into this? If you'll have 7-8 grand to drop next month save your cash. You could build up one hell of a motor, and in a few more months, well who knows. T/C that beast. Just a thought.
