what does a vaccum leak do in the 2.3t motor

i think i got a vaccum leak..... motor kinda stubles... idles higher than normal , doesnt get much boost at all......


does that sound like a vaccum leak ?
i just did the t-5 swap and i think i hooked everything back up correctly

Depends on the size of the leak.

I once forgot to hook my air hose up from the VAM he turbo and she wouldn't stay started I felt pretty smart when I figured that out but the VAM was the last thing I messed with before she started running bad, so I knew I needed to start there.

small leaks (1/2" round or smaller) usually cause rough/hunting idle and black smoke + low power with boost.

HUGE leaks cause bad/no idle, low/no boost.

Incorrect/Incomplete Idle adjustment and disconnected wastgate or bad exhaust leak together will cause an incosistent idle and no boost.
