Depends on the size of the leak. I once forgot to hook my air hose up from the VAM he turbo and she wouldn't stay started I felt pretty smart when I figured that out but the VAM was the last thing I messed with before she started running bad, so I knew I needed to start there.

HUGE leaks cause bad/no idle, low/no boost. Incorrect/Incomplete Idle adjustment and disconnected wastgate or bad exhaust leak together will cause an incosistent idle and no boost.
