i wish there was a way to keep his ideas with his car smart and clean. explaination i know that when i was younger like him i made some mistakes on the torino that is costing me some cash now and even more in the future but it was what i thought i wanted at the time. i dont want him to make some of thee same mistakes. but i guess everyone has to make them before they realized they were mistakes.

If you really want to do it, go ahead, but understand that your entering a nightmare when you start trying to install the new dash, especially with wires. I hate freaking wiring. It may just be me but when I look at a mass of wires I just can't focus on it. Everythings just a huge mess, and thats what you'd be getting into. Keep the dash and do a h/c/i man. The 87-93 gauge cluster doesnt read accurate anyway.

ryan seems to like to do pointless mods jus for the sake of having a nice pain in his ass, because someones willing to sell him their junk in exchange for his allowance. save up your pennies and get your first set of gt40 heads ryan and teach yourself how to do a head swap. thatll benefit you way more. but suit urself. i give the kid major props if he pulls it off and it comes out clean.

i dont get allowence lol havent for 4 years. and gt40 heads wont bolt on to a 3.8 lol

i just ordered some white face gauge inserts for my car. these ones shold be alot easyer then the ones i put in my dads stang. these ones are pre cut.

Sounds like a good project man. Glad to see your working on stuff at your age. When I was your age I was just getting into cars and trying to learn how crap worked, how to make it go faster, etc. I'm still dumb as crap about performance, I mean I don't know how to set up heads, degree a cam, all the techy stuff, but I've come a long way, and you got a nice head start compared to someone my age. Stick with it, save your cash, and build you a nice motor to go in the car. Since it's a 6'r, I'd go for the 351w lol. Work hard man and you could have a sick motor in a couple years. Sounds like you'll have the knowhow to do it by then too.

sorry ryan for some reason i thought u had a 5.0. yeah dont bother with heads on that 3.8 jus drive her lol find out what the factory timing is and jus rotate your distributor in either direction to retard and advance. when u hear her ping...... STOP! if its at factory timing she can prolly stand to be advanced a lil. this will give u some quicker response. jus make sure u have decent gas to be on the safe side. but like i said. dont let her ping.

i advanced it a couple degrees. its idels smoother and pulls threw the rpms a little better.

over the winter im going to do soemthing to the lintake. and do new carb.

if you want a four eye with the newer int it is mush easier to swap the nose of a 87-plus car, than screw with a older one's insides, maf 5.0 ftw!!! anyway
