What fan to on my 95gt 351 swap

I just got a 351 dropped into my 95 gt.I am running a D-1 procharger renagade set up.Now to the fun stuff,MY FAN WONT FIT!I have exactly 3 inches from end of pulley to stock radiator.I plan on getting a bigger radiator so that 3 inches will be gone.So I am left with no choice but to run some kind of fan on the other side of the radiator.I have never used such a fan in any of my builds so I am clueless to what I need,how much they are,how to wire it into my stock plug,ya getting the point.Help!!!!!

A pusher fan is really going to suck (no play on words intended). They're an impediment to air flow when you're at speed.

Will you be able to sink a new radiator into (under) the rad support? If so, this can buy you some space to possibly fit a couple of Spal fans.

How much height do you have from the bottom of the radiator to where-ever it is that creates interference? If you have 20" or so, you might have some other options.............. (I have one in mind but need to go take a measurement).........

The crank blower pulley is whats in the way,I dont think there is any way to get one on the front.Now when i get home from work I will see about gettin on under the support.Do you think I will have over heating probs with the pusher style?

How many rib is teh renegade Procharger setup... 8? I moved my motor back 1 inch and currently could run a 10 rib with a Vortech and keep my sn-95 fan with my fluidyne rad if i wanted with NO problems.

What kind of motor mounts are you running? You can notch solid mounts to do the same thing as notching the K-member to move the motor back, with less hassle.

Also i have seen some guys do as Hissin said... They actually cut the hump out of the rad support and move the Rad fwd and under to get some BIG clearence. I am considering doing this if i ever get a supercharger brace. One guy on Corral fits a big cog setup and then tops it off w/ a supercharger brace doing as said with miles of clearence. Check out the supercharger forums there... His user name is "bccoupe" or something like that.

There should be ways to make it fit with the 94-95 fan.

I don't get it. If it doesn't fit, there's a TON of slim-fans on the aftermarket they make in 100 sizes, most will push or pull and they rate the volume of air they move on the box. Just wire one up.

Fixed?

Very true...

However, if you can keep the stock fan and invest that money elsewhere in the car... more power to ya! Our fans are actually damn good fans.

It is a 12 rib set up and did I forget to say,I am running 87-93 brackets and they are thicker and the water pump is longer than ours.I did not want a prochargwer for our year because it run off the serp. belt so I got a fox body one and switched everything.I am going to look into moving it back the radiator as some of you have suggested,I love all the feedback keep it comin,Thanks

Scroll down and you will see the setup i am talking about (rad moved for clearence). It is a fox so it may be even more relevant to your setup since you have the fox timing cover and water pump.

PS. If you needed like 1/4in more clearance to try and fit the sn-95 fan... maybe trim the shroud a bit?

Man if I had that much room I would sleep there.I wonder if he had a custom radiator made to fit it in there like that?

I don't think he had a custom radiator made.... He cut out the hump in radiator support. It should drop the radiator and make it so you can slide it fwd. That is a Fox and the rad support may be different so you would have to see if it could work for teh sn-95's.

Also, like i said in my above post... Did you move the motor back any during your swap? It would give you about an inch more clearance plus somewhat better weight distribution... I have so much more room just by moving the motor back a bit.

Sorry I was at work and couldnt really keep track or who was writing what.No I did not move my motor back,I am running solid mounts but that 351 is pretty tight in there.I was going to run the mac long tubes and had to switch to the 1 3/4 in shorties cause of clearance issues.I work on chevys for a living and boy I cant wait to come home and work on my FORD.I am going to do some measuring and see what my options are the I will post them for you guys
