I let my son drive my 5.0 to the army base 250 miles away while his car gets fixed. I knew the heater core was leaking a little for quite some time. Howver, my son says he is adding atleast quart of water every day. The core must be splitting worse.

I am going to go get the car tonight and bring it home to fix. I plan on plugging the hoses to the heater core so that i can drive it home.

What hose feeds the heater core, the large are smaller hose?

The heater core lines are on the firewall next to the A/C connections. I would just put a U-pipe/hose or something to keep the water circulating through the pipes that run next to the intake. JMO...

Yea. Loop the lines. They're the 2 rubber hoses on the passenger side of the firewall.

Yeah, if you don't loop it, the coolant temp sensor won't get a correct reading since it's in that pipe. I've read about people blocking off the hose, etc and yesterday I started wondering how they did it since the coolant temp sensor is in that pipe.
