How 'bout the bottom of the A pillar? Big blind spot. Humans, bicycles, and even entire cars have hidden under the outside rearview mirror triangles. I have to jockey my head from side to side to make sure nothing is there.

+1! Also since I've added the GT500 rear spoiler, I've lost alot of the view out the back as well(can't see under it like the factory spoiler). That still takes some getting used to. Oh well, no accidents yet and it looks real good!

I'm definitely noticing a lot more understeer than on the 00 GT with the 245/45-17. Maybe that 235/55-18 is just a little too much sidewall to get that hard turn-in I'm used to.

The front felt slow to turn in when I got the car. steeda front control arm inserts fixed that for fairly cheap. 'course, there's always a new panhard bar, springs & struts, etc...

True. To each their own.
But the seat thing is silly, I mean, if the previous car had it... ?

And the pop-up rollbars, should be standard on all verts.

And the passenger lumbar? If it's already a mirror image of the driver's power seat, why not? If they didn't offer a power passenger seat I could see it, they would need to provide extra wiring, etc. But if the wiring is already there?

And the pedals, I guess the reason is that you can't make them for cars with stick shifts, so I can understand that one.

But the tires? Maybe they only offer one type so as to take up lass space at the factory? Maybe they want to make sure some idiot in Chicago doesn't order them in the middle of winter? Who knows...

As for the roll bar, the car got 5 star in rollover, so it really depends on how often someone is in the rear seat.

The tires are a comprimise, nothing special. I switched to winter tires for the winter, but the pirelli's (17 inch wheels) were ok for light snow.

the car has different things that each person would change.

many people expect creature comforts when spending $25,000 or more on a car.
that is why you cant go and buy a stripped out version of the mustang. having options is what buying a new car is all about. some want the bare minimum, and others want everything and then some.

isnt that what aftermarket mods are for?

IMO / the Deluxe is good enough ..........

I agree cause the more features then the more to go wrong later, Just my 2 cents but I've had a vehicle with bad electrical problems before and that can reak havok on the wallet.
When the s197 came out I would have been happy with hand crank windows and no a/c.

As far as creature comforts are concerned, I could care less. I consider my mustang to be a muscle car. By definition, they are supposed to do one thing only..... scare you *****less in a straight line, which mine still does from time to time. They aren't supposed to be comfortable, handle well, stop well, be quiet, or anything else. Just go like stink..... In that manner, I am perfectly happy with the mustang. In addition to being quick in a straight line, they also happen to handle pretty well, and maintain a decent ride/noise level in general.

If I HAD to complain about something, one would be the seats, but not the "memory seats" everyone is talking about. I am still the only person that has every driven the car, with the exception of the guy who drove it on and off the truck (I bought it with less than 2 miles on it). I don't worry about a seat memory function, but if I were to let someone into the back seat, I would like the drivers seat to return to it's original position, instead of an arbitrary one. That being said, I also would like to have smaller A pillars. They are on the big size, and when coupled with the huge side mirrors we have, the is a large blind spot right in front of the driver. It's not a huge issue, just something that bugs me from time to time.

In the end, for what it is, the Mustang is a hell of a package, especially for the price. I think anybody would agree that we've come a long way since the 60's/70's.

I just bought an 08 GT/CS and it is by far my favorite! This my seventh Mustang and couldn't be happier. I never thought I would own an auto but the five speed auto is awesome! My only complaint is no interior trunk release.
