What is better 5W-20 or 5W-30

I am always hearing that people switch oil from 5W-20 to 5W-30. I heard that the only reason Ford recommended 5w-20 was to satisfy EPA and government requirements. So what advantages or disadvantages are from using 5W-30????

This seems to be a issue with a lot of people on this forum?

Go with which one your more comfortable with.
You'll be fine either way.

actually most people go with 5w-30 because Mobile 1 makes it and Mobile 1 doesn't make a 5w-20 synthetic yet. 5w-20 will give you better gas mileage and possibly a little better performance. From what i've told, there is much more technology put into the 5w-20 to make it protective at 20 weight. Amsoil makes 5w-20 synthetic and most people will not challenge my statement that they make the Best engine oil.
I'm probably going to try it next oil change.
