What is it about the '94 front seats that won't work with '93?

What i did for the back seat in my hatchback. Don't know if the convertible SN seat will work though. You could always have the rears recovered to match the fronts

Wow! Those seats look awsome in that hatchback. I'll bet most of the interior spacing is the same for the newer models. Looks like those seats were made for that Foxbody. Did they bolt in without too many mods?

No. They aren't a direct bolt in.

Seat bottom needs a custom frame made to secure it. Guys have used plywood for this, or cut and welded the rear parts of an SN95 into the fox. Since nobody sits in my rear seat..it's just laying in place. However if you sat in it and braked hard, the seat would slide forward. Not an issue for me because my car is really a 2-seater only. I won't put anyone out back.

Seat backs were easy. Basically you just peel the seat meteral off the Sn95 frames and transfer them to the fox body mustang seat frames. After that they just bolt right in. So basically you'd need a donar set of seat frames.

I just put a set of new edge pony seats in my 83. I used the stock new edge bracket on the passenger seat and a passenger bracket on the drivers seat. You need to modify a portion of the bracket for it to work takes 5 minutes with a cutoff wheel. And they actually sit lower than the stock 83 sport seats. I hope this helps some of you with the seat sitting to high problem

plus id think they are heavier

Thanks for this info. I'll be on the lookout for those year seats as an option.

I don't think the plywood thing would be an issue on the bottom seat, however I must admit, it does sound a bit cheezy I'd love to hear if anyone has tried the convt. set from these years.

This is good info to have as well. I wouldn't have considered using a passenger bracket on the drivers side - I guess if you have a part - try to see if it works. 83 and the 86 are not different...

Get the aluminum power seat tracks (96-up I think?)...
The steel power tracks are HEAVY.

Perfect, going to bone yard this Sat. after it warms up here in Ft. Lauderdale

You could install fox manual tracks. That's what are on my seats

I swapped in a set of 2002 seats in my 90. Used the tracks that came with the seats and they bolted right in with no mods. Wired up the driver seat- connected the ground to the ground in each plug and combined the power lumbar and 6 way into one hot wire and connected that to the hot connector in the stock plug. Only thing I lost was the power lumbar on the passenger seat. The 2002 seats make a world of difference in comfort and feel.

I sold my original front seats for the same price as I paid for the 2002 so it cost me nothing!

It's not nearly that much. I had a good pic showing the difference. I pulled the seat out of my '03 GT with those tracks and compared to the 02gt seats on fox tracks. It was maybe 1/2" difference.

I'm 6'1"...I fit fine.

Putting 94'-02' seats in a fox body will bolt right in, but will raise the seats some.

But I thought I remember reading somewhere that if you also use the 94'-02' seat rails/tracks in a fox body that it will lower the seats back down? Is this correct?

Went boneyard hoping last weekend and couldn't find one good set! I was hoping to find a set in gray to patch into my 86 scheme, not sure if they even offered any grays within these years. I would take black if I get a good set - I haven't sealed my interior color choice yet. Being that I have the vert, and live in south Florida, Black kinda scares me off; not interested in leaving thigh skin on them in the summer!!!

I have black leather and it's fine for me unless you leave the top down in the sun for hours.. I'm going to the U Pull tomorrow and I'll keep an eye out for gray cloth.

I scored a nice passenger black leather seat from a 2000, Need the matching driver seat as the one in the JY was totally ripped .
