Given the mods in my signature, what do you think is my rwhp? How much more horsepower will I gain from my future mods? I'd have my car dynoed but I don't know of any places that do it in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Even though my car is a slowmatic vert, do you think that my quarter-mile times could be in the upper 12s yet?

Aren't the 99+ stangs rated at 224 rwhp (260 bhp)?

Have I only added 11-16 rwhp? I was thinking closer to 30 rwhp.

I just dyno'd 255/284 SAE.
You have less mods than I do

I'm a little disappointed, you'd expect more for the amount of money spent.
It's time to just get blown for me, save up...

You definately have me on exhaust side, but I just added Diablo tune. I would think that we would be closer.

So what have we learned: $100 = 1 rwhp

With all your mods, you've only gained 14 rwhp?

I've seen signatures that claim incredible dyno numbers with minimal mods. For example, a 2003 GT claimed to dyno 245 rwhp with only Steeda u/d, K & N filter, MAC O/R h-pipe, adn 2 chamber flows. A 1999 GT claimed 247 rwhp with only Steeda u/d, K & N filter, Bassani catted x-pipe and catbacks. Add a Steeda timing adjuster and a C & L 80 mm MAF to the equation, and a guy with a 2000 GT is claiming a dyno of 254 rwhp.

Why the discrepancies in dyno results for common mods?

cars react differently

hell I dyno'd at 272 rwhp SAE and 283 rwtq SAE with fewer mods. Sometimes you just get a factory freak OR a really odd dyno

Here is my estimate--

Current Mods: 30 rwhp

8 rwhp for Steeda u/d pulleys
6 rwhp for Accuba tb and plenum
2 rwhp for C & L inlet pipe
4 rwhp for K & N filter
10 rwhp for Diablo tune

Future Mods: 40 rwhp

12 rwhp for Steeda catted x-pipe
8 rwhp for Steeda cat-back exhaust
10 rwhp for JBA shorty headers
10 rwhp for Granatelli MAF

This would bring me to about 294 rwhp without lt headers, performance heads, or cams. Is this realistic or wishful thinking?

With my 4.10 gears, this should bring me into the low 12s.

I'd say 245/290. I have better numbers and run low 13's at 105. I could hit 12's with traction. I am also near MPLS. Gears might help you with the 410's, I have 390's. Never know, have heard of people hitting some awesome times with few mods. Is all about the driver.

Do you mean tires or suspension with my 4.10s?

Are there any dynos in the Mpls./St. Paul area? Where do you have the work done on your Mustang? What track do you run at? I hope to hit the track this summer for the first time. It sounds like a blast.

I meant that your 410's should definetly help you hit the 12's. tires are a must with them. My 390's give me grief. I took my car to HiTech in anoka. Talk to Brian Ebert. He does good work. I need a tune yet because he does not tune Diablo Sport chips but has the revolution software. I live down by Mankato and have Disco Dan Schoeneck do my big jobs, otherwise I do it myself. I had another guy from one of the other websites do my cams. I run at Rock Falls and plan on making it to Cedar Falls as well. RF is Wisc and CF is Iowa. RF is closer to MPLS. about 70-90 miles. They have had a rough history about the prep work to the launch area but are doing better.

Suprisingly I get really good traction with the 4.10s. The convertible is heavier and the automatic engages more slowly that a manual. Plus I have new Sumitamo tires. Eventually I will probably need to purchase Drag radials as well as upper and lower contol arms

Yeah, I want tubular k member and maybe control arms with a coilover setup. Just no money right now. Is hard to buy suspension stuff instead of go fast goodies.

I hear you. Performance mods are addicting. As long my wheels stay planted, I plan to focus on adding horsepower.

I got slightly over 4rwhp with an autologic dyno tune. 20 rwhp from catback and midpipe is not reasonable. I wish it did get that much power but it doesn't. steeda catted X is magnaflows X and typically sees 7-8 rw.
when are you getting it dynoed

Thanks for the feedback.

I am looking for a place in the Mpls./St. Paul area. Any suggestions?

Comparing rwhp is like comparing dick size. It's all how you use it. Besides there is always someone with a bigger...I mean more hp.

8 rwhp pulleys
6 plenum/tb
2 tb pipe
4 filter
12 x pipe
8 cat back
10 MAF

50rwhp...

Which even if I dyno'd 225rwhp stock, I should be at 275rwhp
I'm 20rwhp short of that with those mods...
