yea i've heard mixed opinions on them...particularily about the price$ per gain on hp ratio , but i sure as hell cant fit long tubes.... cars lowered over 2inches in front and im not lookin to change its stance But with the cams i really want the car to have complete exhaust in some form or another even if it cant be long tubes.

so wheres a good place to order them? any package deals where i can buy the cam shafts, valve cover gaskets and possibly new valve covers?

Not really package deals and no need for new valve covers at all. Go to your local Ford Stealership, pick up some valve cover gaskets, and then search the classified sections on all the forums. Guys often sell their cams because they buy them, never out them in due to price or getting blown, and sell them for 400-450 brand new. Thats my suggestion if you're not in a huge hurry. 3.73's should hold you over for a bit....Only kept me happy for about a week or so before i ordered more parts

What is needed? About $1200-2000 dollars and a total lack of respect for your bank account.

if you cammit its sounds mobetta than stock and every lil bit helps, as far as wanting more power. oh and 30 to 40 more rear wheel hp is a lot in thes lil lite cars so you make the choices on what you want to do first, thats my opinion

Since when is a 3,000lb + car a light one? Or a mustang small?

Go look at a miata, then get back to me...

also, as far as installations go, a vortech or similar S/C is a little easier than doing cams. And there is far greater margin for error when installing the S/C compared to the cams. One minor brain fart with the cams and you can ruin your day.

All the cam and suspension in the world wont keep up with a blower...
And you dont need a crazy suspension to run a blower, hell, back in the day I spent 8 months on a completely stock drive train (including stock rims and all season 245 tires) with a vortech and 400rwhp.

Are you still running the factory gear ratio? Did not see it in your sig, with my Stage 1's I wish I had gone with 4.10 or 4.30 gears..................3.73's and Stg. 1 cams =

i wasNT trying to keep up with a blower... i just want to have more of a balance in modifications with the budget i have to work with.

Like i said before, i really dont think i the car will ever see a blower...i would rather spend the money towards a different (faster) car's modifications, rather than keep tryin to mod the 2valve. It would be nice to start with something faster.

lets get this straight. i only bought the cams, and they were on sale, for $535. thats it. why get new valve cover gaskets? i cant think of one reason to do that. theyre made of rubber and dont hold in much pressure, nor are they torqued down very tight (at least they shouldnt be, cause it is after all rubber), so what else do you need? just bolt the things in, and dont listen to degreeing and this and that crap, cause it simply dosent matter. ive had mine for 8 months now, revved beyond 6300 under load, made 10 passes, ect ect.. nothing will go wrong.

only thing i will warn you about is..

-be ready for your motor to shake (my poly motor & trans mounts took care of that, but that was dfone during LT install)

-be ready for the whole car to shake and buck at low rpm, esp with timing advanced (I took all advanced timing back below 2000 rpm, and it almost took any hint of bucking away)

- be ready to raise your idle to about 850, cause below that it really shakes (but sounds amazing) if you want to have that nastly low lope that can be acheived with Stg 1's, your idle needs to be below about 750. its not too comfy tho. still sounds good at 850 where mine is, but the lope is less consistant

overall you will gain power, and its a more or less "fun" and easy day install.

if you researched the valvetrain on these cars you would see how wildly diffrnt the left and right banks can be out of sync from each other, and in order to do it CORRECTLY you need to degree the cams... yes, you CAN install them with no degreeing but you are cheating yourself... its like buying teh direct port nitrous kit and runninga 25shot.

exept the fact that i gained as much power as anybody who did degree them.. unless 31 rwhp is only a quarter of what i shouldve gained

hmmm.. and btw, i havent researched the valvetrain, and honestly i dont care. Im not saying i WANT to hurt my car, BUT if 1000 other people have done something, ill take their word for it

anyways, im really not tryin to start an argument here because I honestly dont know too much of the technical side, just throwin out my expiriences which are consistent across the board
