What is the best way to attach battery cable ends??

Use the solder method. When you're done, put some heat shrink tubing over the connection and you'll never have an issue with it. I did all of the connections in my car this way when I replaced all the battery cables. My ground is attached to the bolt that holds the engine mount to the block.

That kind of connector is designed to be crimped on not soldered. I use those types of connectors all the time in the electrical trade to connect large motors, electrical switch gear etc. The best thing would be if you had a friend or someone who worked for an electrical contractor. They should have the crimp tool and the correct die.

As far as connecting to the aluminum on the TC or bellhousing. You can pick up a little thing of anti oxidation compound from the HD. Its usually called Penetrox, No Alox or something like that. Put a little dab of that on the aluminum and its all good. That is what we use when we have to terminate aluminum wire to prevent oxidation.

What's wrong with using the stock location on the back of the intake for a grounding start point? Unless you're running an aftermarket intake that doesn't have that spot drilled/tapped, of course...? (In which case, you could always just find some kind of a bracket bolt or whatever's handy - it doesn't have to be held down with a 3/4" bolt or anything... :) )

I switched my car to a carb, and the intake i have is an Eledbrock air gap.. i could use one of the intake bolts, but i dont want to disturb the sealant... ill find somewhere to ground the damn jobbie this wekend lol.

how are you running your cable(s) to the starter and solenoid? i've been thinking about relocating my battery to the trunk, but i dunno if i should

I have a 1 wire powermaster alternator, so its going to be different on yours than mine. On mine all im doing is running a cable from the solenoid back to the battery, then one from the solenoid to the alternator, running a trigger wire from the chassis harness to the alternator, then figure out how to wire my starter.. jrichker has a great writeup on how the wiring should be for EFI cars. You might have to search a little to find it, but just look up battery relocation, or something similar, and you should find it. the way he does it will leave you with zero problems.
