What is the best way to weld cats into a O/R h pipe?

I am going to weld some cats into my MRT H pipe and I was wondering what the best method for doing this is. Currently the pipe is off the car. I was thinking of scribing a line down the center of each pipe where the cats would go and also down the centerline of each cat, line up the scribes and weld. Any other thoughts?

I really dont want to put the pipe on the car to do this do to the effort required. And I dont have my mil 02 sensor extensions yet. But if that is the best way then so be it.

What kind of welder are you going to use? TIG or MIG? I personally wouldn't weld...why did you get an off-road pipe to begin with? What are you going to cut the H-pipe with? A sawzall will probably work the best. Make sure you have a new blade in there...it should go through the pipe like a hot knife in butter.

I am going to have a weld shop do it with stainless steel rod. I got the O/R H originally because that is what I wanted at the time but I didn't like the 2000-3000 rpm 'Blat sound' that comes with them (didn't realize it at the time). I never got used to it so now it is sitting in my garage doing nothing. I am going to put it on my Mach 1 but I am going to tone it down a bit. They will probably use a sawzall or a band saw. I just want to give them good directions to keep the alignment proper.

You really shouldnt use stainless steel welding rod with steel pipes. The two don't fuse together well. You said you can use it?

Maybe I miss-spoke, whatever rod is reqeired to weld stainless steel together I figured if the pipes are stainless and the cats are stainless then the rod should be also?

DONT DO IT buy a O/R X instead sell the one u have now the X pipes dont crackle or nothing!!!!GET THE OFF ROAD X never put those sorry ARS cats back on not even high flow cats
