What Is This Box?

well sorry I dont have a pic yet, but it seems to be some sort of relay or sensor.

Its located directly behind the drivers side head light. More towards the center of the car though.

Its a small box mounted to the upper radiator support, it says "Ford" on it and a bunch of numbers. Also has a few wires going to it.

Reason im asking is b/c my car was in a small fender bender before I bought it and it pushed the headlight bracket back, causing one of the headlight studs to hit this "black box"

Yep, and there should be 3 of them up front. One behind each headlight and one sort of in the middle.

It sure does sound like one of the airbag sensors.

That is the only thing that I can think of that it could be. Look at your car and see if there is a matching one on the other side of the car.

^^ Agreed. If you need to take it out, get a big hammer and give it a good whack to move it out of the way. If you hear a loud bang, don't worry, it's just your airbag

well i have removed the fuse for the airbag so it shouldnt be a problem now.

maybe disconect your neg. battery cable just to be on the safe side

Do a Goolge search on the part number - you'll be suprized at what you can find.

I believe he means disconnect your negative cable if you are going to try to remove or service the airbag sensor.

When doing anything with airbags, I always will disconect the battery and wait ten minutes before touching anything. The voltage in the capacitors could be enough to set it off. Just a heads up when you got to replace it.
