ive broken this part off on both my windsor motors i have (302 AND 351) Its right on top of the upper intake closer to the passenger side, it has a plug with 2 wires running to it and its connected to the line running into the heater core. I think its some sort of valve for diverting coolant to the heater core but i have no idea. I need to buy on so i need to know what its called. thanks.

That sounds a lot like what's on my car. It's the sensor for the automatic climate control. Do Mustangs have that?

Only other thing I could think that it would be, would be the ECT sensor.

Is it on the front or back part of the motor?

ill try to get a pic tomorrow. Its on the lower intake passenger side towards the front. It is exposed to coolant im positive of that but its not the temp sensor becuase that's on the driver's side. But yeah it screws into the tube coming out of the lower manifold. Attached to the same thing are: A tube going to the bottom of the throttle body, and a tube going into the firewall (heater core)

i think i know what you talkin about. isnt that a the temperature sensor for the computer? not really sure myself. its connected to the black piping that runs from near the thermostat housing along the lower intake on the passanger side right?

That's your ECT sensor.

Edit: Oh, and it's a 1" deep socket to get it in and out.
