Ok i have a 94 mustang. Right now these are the mods I have on it right now.
stock bottom, 70mm throttle body, cold air intake, bbk shorty headers, underdrive pulleys, and sct 4 bank chip. Now I know right now I might (but I doubt it) have 250hp on motor.
I'm about to put on 94-95 cobra upper and lower intake(no work to them), gt40 heads with just upgraded springs, 1.7 roller rockers, and a tfs stage 1 cam. now with the H/C/I swap how much hp would I gain. And could anyone tell me what would my total hp be with all mods?

search for the gt40 threads....thats a very popular combo. You could find your answer quicker that way. google it. Search on corral. etc etc etc.

Grady, that seems like a really low guess to me. Do you think long tubes and aluminum heads Would put him in the 300rwhp neighborhood?

Do u think the stage 1 is going to hurt him with those heads and intake? Cobras r rated at 240hp right? Minus 15% is 204rwhp. Aren't his headers/tune/cam worth something?

Stupid mobile site but I meant aluminum heads and headers alone* in terms of putting him in the 300rwhp neighborhood.

Brain Fart Time For Me

I had a bunch of stuff goin on while I was reading but did not even
see the second part of his post

Now I see why you said he would be in the GT40 camp

I'd have to bump up the guess to 260 to 280 sae rwhp

Maybe a bit more with a really sharp tune

btw ... you would have to have your fuel stuff upgraded
to hit the better numbers

Unless I've got things backwards 8002Dracula , I'd say your total RWHP with mods will be somewhere around 270.

ok that sounds good i'd be happy with about 270 to the wheels. so how much would going with 1.6rr's instead of 1.7rr's?
what little i have found they may make 5hp difference is that true?

270 is being very optimistic. with no porting or matching or anything, you're looking more at 240-250

What you say here has some merit for sure

Reason why you see lower numbers with OEM parts based combos is
mostly because they are built around a low budget

Another reason for the low numbers is .......
A lot of these types of combos are built by folk cutting their teeth in this
hobby ... You know ... a first time combo builder ... thus ... no or very
little experience

As you said ... they did not do this or that

And the little things ... or ... attention to detail ...........
They can add up and make a difference for larger numbers for sure :Word:

Again ... these folks did not do such things simply because they
were not aware to do them or perhaps they did not know how
to accomplish them

Also ... if you are bucks down with a h/c/i combo
tuning with afpr & dizzy twisting will yield only so much

Anyway ... just a thought or two to support your thoughts

Well said Grady It's not meant to be discouraging either, in all honesty, 240-250 at the wheels isn't too shabby, it's around 290 at the crank with T5. If it's in the budget, or you have the skills yourself, get everything port matched and port out the emissions bumps from the heads, you can pick up as much as 20 hp just doing that. Let us know how the car feels to you after you do everything, that's the real test.

Even if I can just squeeze out 250 to wheels that's good for me. Work is a lil slow right now and can't afford to build the motor I really want. So I thought that I would just pep the old car up this summer(plus I just had a buddy of mine buy an 2000 mustang gt and I have to try to stay above him lol) and hopefully next year will be better for making money and I can start on my REAL motor. Thanks guys I'll let you know how things turn out. If everything goes as planed I should have everything in and put on the car 4th of July weekend.
