I have a 95 mustang gt auto vert.So far i have longtubes,offroad hpipe,magnaflow mufflers,373s,K-N air filter,tuneup was done in march.Right now it has 111586.

So im stuck on what i should do next.
1-rebuild my aode or do a swap to a T5
2-Should I do suspension.If i do suspension,what brand should i get and what should i get replace?
3-Should i do H/C/I and what brand is good with the 302.
4-Rebuild the engine

My main goal is to be pushing 350hp or more and faster then a ss and t/a,so whatever gets me closer to that.If anyone has any other suggestions let me know. Thanks for any help you guys give me.

I'm sorry to hear that man...i remember you saying when the motor blew up before that you are sick of the modding game. Good luck with whatever direction you take in the future

To the original poster, not everyone wants a race car...just a fast street car. One thing to always remember in this game is that your car will only be as strong or as durable as the weakest link. Our cars are 10-11 years old so it is EXPECTED for things to go wrong...especially when modding them.

Now since you are a vert i say get some Sub-frame connectors. There is actually a thread up top going on about them right now. If you stick with the AODE, get a stall and a shift kit.

If you have the money, i would say to go with a custom cam from Ed Curtis or the like then go from there. He will be able to recommend which heads and intake to go with to attain your goal of power/speed. His combos have been proven over and over if you look around here in the forums. But its usually TFS twisted wedge heads or AFR 165's and once in a while someone will have the Edelbrock heads. Then there are always the gt-40 combos that can be done for a little less but you get a little less power out of them. Intakes usually are the Edelbrock performer/rpm/rpm II, TFS street/track/R, Holley Systemax, etc. Unless you have a specific idea in mind(like i wanted the TFS intake so i can get it in the black powder coating) just give Ed C an email at www.flowtechinduction.com and he will set you up.

Good luck

the best mod i ever did to my old stang was pitching the AODE in the trash for a T5. that was one of my first mods since the tranny went out twice not too long after i got the car. it was a night and day difference in both performance and how much fun the car was to drive.

It all depends, but when I owned an AODE in my '92 - and then switching over to a stick with my '94, I can tell you right now I'll never go back.
Last night I was in my buddy's '96 impala ss, which isn't much slower than my car, at all... he has an AODE and I can tell you right now I love being in my car over his... light years of difference. light years... but again, it's all what YOU want.

I'd do a 5spd swap, but you said you want somewhere around 350hp. A tranny swap isn't gonna get you that.

With that in mind, I'd do a h/c/i buildup. This will give you right around 350hp depending on what parts you use. Just remember with the h/c/i combo, you're gonna most likely need bigger injectors, which means a new maf, also bigger fuel pump, an afpr, and maybe a few other miscellaneous things.

The suspension is gonna hold you back once you do some major power mods. But your suspension mods are only gonna help you so much right now, and they're really not gonna make you that much faster. I would do some subframes in the near future though.

Good luck, let us know what you decide.

It depends on what you want. If you're trying to get into the 12's, go HCI. If you just want to make the car more fun to drive get the T-5. I'm going to be selling my D&D custom cam $125(switching to turbo setup) in a few weeks. Depends on what I get for it, I'll sell my Cobra T-5, shifter, and bell housing.

how much would you want for you t-5?

I think I might just do minor suspension. If I do minor suspension what should do?Springs, shocks, strunts?whats a good brand? Since I have longtubes how much can I lower my car?

I just got a good deal on a trickflow track heat intake is that a pretty good intake?
If I get the inatke my winter project would be the suspension, intake,65mm throttle body, cai, mass air meter.

Im not sure on what size mass air meter,im also wondering if I should get bigger fuel injectors

Thanks for the help so far guys

That is a good intake, but it is probably too big for the stock heads. I would hold off on that until you can do the heads, and cam with it. If your going to stay with the auto, do the shiftkit right away. It makes a difference, and will actually help your transmission. I saw a suspension set-up on Ebay that has like 1.5" springs, and tokicos. I can't remeber if it was Saleen or Steeda, or what but it was a known name. $389, I think.
Brandon

edit: I can't seem to find the one I thought I saw. Maybe my mind was playing tricks on me. Here is a kit that has 1.75" Sprint springs with the Tokicos for $389. Shipping is between $40-50 depending on zip code.

I'd say H/C/I. And why does everyone say subframes for verts? My vert chassy is pretty stiff alrady and I bought subframes but wondering why I really need them.

You don't know how bad a vert flexes until after you do subframe connectors, trust me.

you're gonna need a power adder to get 350 at the rear wheels. h/c/i wil get you there if you want 350 at the flywheel, which is closer to 300 at the rear wheels.

an intake is a good place to start though. they are pretty easy to install and will net about 35 hp.

there are lots of combos here for you to look at: http://eleanor.pro3i.com/showthread.php?t=334773

look for "7. STANGNET USER COMBO’S:"

how much money do you have to spend?

the track heat intake has shorter runners and is better for high revving motors. power in the lower rpm range will most likely suffer, and i'm not sure the stock heads can flow enough in the upper range ro really take advantage of the track heat.
