I'm changing out the UCA shaft bolts that hold the shaft to the car. I bought grade 8 bolts and nuts. My question to those of you that have done this, what did you use for nuts? A standard nut and a lock washer, or other? The stock nuts have what looks like an integral washer on the nut, but I'm not sure what they used at the factory to keep them from backing out. Lowe's didn't have a nut that resembled the factory nut, at least not in grade 8 hardware. Any suggestions?

Find a local hardware store that specializes in bolts and nuts, etc. There are bolts that are even harder than grade 8. My friend kept snapping bolts on his supercharger pulley with grade 8 bolts and switched to a grade 9 I believe it was and that cured his problem, but had to find a specialized hardware store. I found one for him from someone on this board locally.

I'm using the pro-something shelby style drop kit. It's been a few years since I did it, I don't remember the name. Anyway, the kit came with grade 8 bolts, flat washers, and all metal (not nylon insert) locking nuts. They've worked fine for me for what has probably been ~10K miles. If you can't fine the parts locally, you can order off of these people - McMaster-Carr .
