I am having my stock tired engine replace with all forged components, PI heads, PI intake, smaller blower pulley, 60 lb. injectors, etc.. I still have the stock exhaust manifolds, MAC H pipe with cats, and MAC Cat back system. I am considering throwing long tubes on the car while the motor is out with off-road cats. It would cost me an additional $800 for all of that. Do you guys think it's worth it? From research done that any of you have read, is it worth it? Or, should I save the extra $1,000 and put in the intercooler and keep the stock exhaust manifolds? I'm torn between the two!

are they ceramic coated? I was gonna go with the MAC ceramic coated LT's with o/r H... I hear they could make a bunch more HP with a blown car...

Would that setup be annoyingly loud? Drone? Cops????? Etc...

These are Kooks, which use a true ceramic coating They're a lot heavier and better built than the Mac's, but then again, the cost about twice as much too. The Macs use an HTS paint on coating which usually flakes off within a couple of months. same principal, but the Macs are far less durable. The LT's aren't necessarily any louder, but will give off a little deeper tone. The ultimate deciding factor as to how loud your exhaust is going to be, will depend on everything after the headers. If you’re planning to go with a Mac O/R H-pipe along with their Flowpath cat-back, then yeah, it’s gonna be a pretty mean sounding system. The drone will likely drive you nuts at highway speeds though, so keep that in mind.

I definately don't mind a loud exhaust setup... I love the power and if it takes long tubes to get to my goal, then that is what i am going to get. I am going to keep my MAC catted H-pipe for when I have to get the car inspected.. I'll just swap the off-road H pipe.. I already have a serious drone with the stock manifolds, catted H pipe and the cat-back MAC exhaust.. The long tubes and o/r H shouldn't be worse or too much louder than that, right? Or is it a whole different world?

It may have a little more bellow to it. The Mac systems are bad for drone any way you slice it. There's really no way of getting rid of it, without changing the exhaust components. Going to an X-pipe would limit it some, but really you won't get rid of it unless you ditch the chambered mufflers for something different. If you can handle the drone now, then adding LT’s isn’t going to bother you. :nice:
