What size magnaflow weld in muffler?

Hi everyone, I have a deal with a pair of magnaflow mufflers for my stock 2002 GT. They're 2.5 Mufflers. I know the size of the exhaust is 2.25, do I have to buy 2.25 mufflers, or the 2.5 will do fine? I don't want any installation problems (although the muffler shop will do the job..).

Muffler shop can use adapters or you can buy them at autozone for a couple bucks and bring them to them.

I welded in some flowmasters the 1st week i got my car because i hated the stock sound. Anyway, I got 2.5 mufflers, and i was able to make them work. Just take them to an exhaust shop, they will be able to do it, if not, you are at the wrong shop.
